I've posted before about these offers always featuring junk food. Of course it's my choice not to buy them but healthy eaters like a bargain too. Thank goodness for Aldi Super 6!:)

The corresponding chilled meal deal is usually much healthier - last time we were in it was a choice of various meats, stir fried vegetables, noodles and wok sauces for £5

I've never seen any of these deals in our local Co-ops.

never heard of that before - some sort of chocolate flavoured jelly with popping candy in it? sound awful.

Its similar to the bar of chocolate.

I think pieces of jelly are in it as well as the popping candy.

It's a shame because the pizza is actually quite good. But other than that and the onion rings, I wouldn't touch anything else on that list. I just wish they would include more healthy options in their offers. Maybe we should email them to request it.

The pizza and onion rings are up alongside the wedges and garlic bread in healthy terms.

I'm sorry if it offends you but I look at the thread in the (vain) hope that a healthy option might appear.

I go into the Co-op regularly to buy milk. The Arla BoB milk is £1.20 there compared with £1.50 in Sainsbury's. I'll look for a chilled deal next time poohsticks to see what's available.

    The current one is
quiche (choice of cheese and onion or quiche lorraine)
    mixed leaf salad
    coleslaw
2 individual cheesecakes (strawberry, lemon or toffee)
    for £4

I will buy both the frozen meal deal and the fresh meal deal. £9 with a few additions and there's a good few meals that can be made.
I do eat quite healthy, but they won't be eaten in one sitting. The pizza will be pimped up with extra veg and will be a lazy tea. The wedges will go with a salad meal. Onion rings will be part of a tapas meal or with burger or steak. Garlic bread will be an addition to a pasta meal.
The ice-cream with just be eaten.
The chilled meal will perhaps see the quiche being frozen, salad and coleslaw may go with a few wedges and some tuna.
The mini cheesecakes will be a good dessert for after a Sunday dinner.

I think the meal deals offer good value and with a little thought can be incorporated into using in a more healthy way.

Bought the quiche meal deal and wished I hadn't bothered. It reminded me of a school dinner. I usually make my own. It may have been cheap but wasn't worth buying it to throw it away.:(

That's a shame. With bought quiches there does seem to be a wide variance in taste.
