Co-op meal deals

There is always the assumption that someone who buys these Co op meal deals is eating similar food every night of the week. I don't think anyone was suggesting these meals deals were healthy eating were they? In fact were the Co op advertising them as healthy eating? The last link posted up says "freezer fillers." So the clear implication is that they are used as and when.
Eating a frozen pizza and some ice cream is not doing anyone any harm as an occasional quick meal. What a shame some do not seem to have participated in the completely normal social activity of occasionally inviting some mates around for a TV meal whilst watching the footy or some other notable event.
Funny seeing some familiar posters on the crisps thread by the way, perhaps junk food from Aldi or Lidl doesn't count...

These items do not have to be served all at the same sitting. The fish can be served with mash and peas, ice lollies as a heatwave refresher, chips with ham and pineapple, peas with a proper dinner, fish cakes with salad., etc.......according to folks' own taste and preference. Like someone else said....they're freezer fillers.1

I don't know if this is a new thing but, passing the Coop, I noticed they had an offer advertised as something like Healthy 3. It was tomatoes, corn and nectarines. Good to see some balance. I'm not against an occasional treat (I even ate crisps last Christmas 🤣) but the Coop deals always seem to be in junk food.

I am another one who very occasionally buys the £5 Co-op meal deal to put in the freezer as separate components rather than eat as a meal.
The exception to that rule occurred a couple of months ago. My neighbour informed me her father had died in hospital that morning after an emergency admission the day before. The Co-op were doing a pizza deal - 2 pizzas and either four bottles of lager or four bottles of cola for £10. I went and got two pizza deals (1 with lager, 1 with cola) plus some mixed salad and 4 individual cheesecakes. It cost me £23 in all. I took it straight round to my neighbour and said "There, that's your dinner sorted for tonight." She was over the moon. She and her family were still in shock, so not having to think about cooking dinner helped.
The Co-op recommmended retail prices for their deal foods are often a bit choice, but a fiver is still good for stuff to help stock the freezer. One life - your life - live it!1 -

I've never been a big fan of crisps, I usually snack on carrot and celery slices. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -
These deals are so handy for a Friday night treat, or for extras for the freezer. I’m on a tight budget and try to cook from scratch, but these deals are good for the extras when I’m running late.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0

SUPER SAVER DEAL.....current deal expires 15th September.
600g British chicken breast fillets + an Old El Paso dinner kit (fajitas, enchiladas or nachos) for £4.00. I'll definitely be buying this one.0 -
We popped into our local Co-op yesterday and noticed that they have one of their really good meal deals on. You get a bag of frozen potatoes, a bag of frozen parsnips, a box of Yorkshire puddings, a turkey crown and a mint Vienetta for £10. We were so impressed that we bought the deal and that is a good bit of Christmas sorted for us. They do not seem to be advertising it very well but we definitely got the offer yesterday. I hope this helps someone else.5

Thanks for this. Might not suit me as I need Gluten Free & can't check ingredients online, but while looking, I spotted some deals on GF 'party' type food. Don't normally buy ready made, convenience, but this year, I'll make an exception!0
