Bought the Xmas dinner meal deal today. Judging by the near empty cabinet it seems to be a popular one. I know some people struggled getting it last year.

Actually, this isn't the bargain it first appears to be...the turkey joint could be got from other supermarkets for £5 or less (can get a small turkey crown in Tesco for £5) 12 Yorkshire puddings £1 and most of the supermarkets are selling the main vegetables for 29p so that's £1.16 and a vienetta is usually £1

Total = £8.16

My local Coop is attached to a student Hall of Residence. Interestingly though, many of the students are Chinese so they don't seem as interested in junk food as many.

My experience with Chinese friends backs you up.

Seems they are taught more about the goodness of food than the McDonalds lovers of the world.

I may well get that. Not that bothered by the ice cream but the rest I would eat for a quick food fix
