Amazon meltdown

I am not really that bothered about it taking a bit longer, it is needed by 24th. It is the failure of the expected and promised paid for service, something that Amazon shout about as their point of difference over the competition.

I ordered something and paid for next day delivery, I don't use Amazon enough to make prime worth it. The day the parcel was due I got an email saying it wouldn't arrive in time and informing me that had refunded the cost of next day delivery. I thought that was amazing really, I know something went wrong but they did their best to put things right. The daft thing was I had arranged for it to be delivered to my local post office and when I went in next day it was sitting there, it had arrived in time just not been scanned.

I don't know if they can do something to make it up to prime members?

They give you an extra months membership.

To be honest most people aren't bothered if the delivery is not next day as long as:
1. They are told when it will be delivered
2. They told this asap
3. The delivery doesn't mysteriously disappear

I was surprised that they contacted me so quickly, particularly as it was a Saturday so I would have just thought, "Next working day." Still it was a nice surprise to get the delivery money refunded.

Had a complain so got a 30 day Prime extension. Still no CD though - still sitting in a ParcelForce warehouse somewhere.

edit: Whilst tracking showed it not moving it had in fact been handed over to RM and proceeded untracked until delivered by my normal postie this morning.
