HI barncop, please let me know which company you choose to go to. I am finding it bewildering to say the least! When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0

Sounds like the order failed. Just reorder through a better provider (keep the text for a bit tho)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I am currently a TALKTALK customer My contract has expired in June but I have free broadband until the 19th December
Currently I have Anytime Calls at £7.50
International calls at £5
Line Rental £17 70
I spoke to them this am and when I start paying for Broadband it will cost me £37 70 a month. I could take away the international calls of £5 which would reduce my costs to £30 20 a month.
They offered me a SIM card as the free perk due to the recent issues. I have a mobile phone package so the SIM is useless. I did say I was looking at other providers which I am doing. They then offered me half price Broadband for 18 months. Without the International costs it would take my costs to £28 95. I am unsure of exactly what I would pay elsewhere. Carphone Warehouse had tried to sign me up for PlusNet, They seem to have free Broadband free for 12 months
Post Office speak to me about their packages but I have not looked seriously.
Being a Senior I am always wary of change. I was with AOL since 2004 but they offered me a deal to move to TalkTalk in June of 2014. At that time they did give me a good deal to move.
Thoughts of any difficulties I may encounter if I do change. I have read some horrible stories. Advice would be appreciated
Sue

Thanks for all the excellent information and ideas
I live in an apartment and do not think I am able to assess Sky No disk etc
It is a conservation area in Harrogate Some years ago Sky offered some sort of package but as there are 42 flats not enough people were willing to agree
Views Saw Sky on Watchdog and someone was having a problem getting Sky to cancel their contract
I think fear of what might be keeps people of my age group are worried Fear of what you read and here on the news. We are scared as to what might happen in the changeover
Thanks home 14th Jan so will try so sorry out then. Sue0 -

I'd love to know what the TT rep. thinks of the situation with my cousin.
She has been a TT customer for 8 years and pays £37+pennies for broadband, landline and anytime calls. She's never called them to try for a better deal until a couple of weeks ago.
Asked if they could offer a better deal to a loyal customer because she was thinking of leaving. The answer was "that's up to you, we can't offer a better deal". What breathtaking arrogance on their part. Probably because she's in her 70's and been with them for so long and won't change. Wrong!
I've finally persuaded her to move to another provider as TT are just taking the proverbial. I will be visiting her on Sunday and hopefully start the ball rolling for a transfer elsewhere.
Further, she received the "upgrade" letter (data leak debacle related) which included an "upgrade to anytime calls". She contacted TT but was told that because she already had anytime (£7.50/month) she couldn't have the offer. So someone who has paid for this add on for 8 years still has to pay for it, but someone who hasn't gets it free for 12 months. What a truly awful company they are.:mad:0 -

Agreed, they are showing signs of desperation now, after loosing about 300,000 customers in the last quarter of 2015, they have bought off their gullible stick in the mud customers with a few worthless offers and are now on here trouting for business again! Their results after this annus horibilous due soon should make an interesting read. Definitely one to avoid.0 -
I've just switched over to them and totally regret it!
Was given a pre-loyalty offer for 12 months half price if I continued my order. I had to wait for my line to go active before it could be applied. Guess what, they won't honour it and the CEO office who I've spoken to made up a whole pack of lies so now I'm stuck in a more expensive package.
Avoid TalkTalk at all costs!!!Currently in a Trust Deed 30 payments until DEBT FREE - February 20270 -
Exactly the same happened to me............ they told me nothing but lies, and I have been saddled with them for over a year now. When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0
