DH gave me some money to go xmas shopping as he doesn't have time.

So I went to bhs as I needed a new bag. Found one i liked, got to counter and it was reduced to half price on Christmas eve eve :j. Very happy.

Worth not always buying everything throughout the year.

I noticed whsmith is very expensive. They had selection boxes for £3.49 which were selling as £1 in sainsbury. They were selling annuals for £7.99 and £3.49 or £5.99 in sainsbury.

    Definitely pays to shop around.
Well done with the bag :T

It does seem these days that you have to 'shop around' for just about everything. I try and do it on foot, when possible, but often find these days that it's a punt online.

If an hour online is going to save a few squids I reckon it's time well spent :money:

Off to the outlaws today then back this afty so won't be spending anything which is a bonus. All sorted Xmas-wise which is nice as no running around. I can cope with that!

If I don't get back to post until afterwards have a fabulous Christmas all xx

  • Hi Lovely People

All this talk about January thread has focussed my mind & I've decided that this will be my final month doing the Challenge for a while.

Since I became self-employed in October it's like my whole working life is a Money Making Challenge and I realise I need to focus every bit of money making energy into my business.

I will miss you all - you have been a big part of my life for the last year. In that year I have raised over £4k doing this challenge which went a long way towards the "nest egg" that I needed to give me the courage to leave my job.

Thank you all so much for your support & a MASSIVE thank you to Aesop for running this thread. I will keep posting until the end of the year - after that please feel free to pop in to visit my Diary (link below).

I'm sure it will work fine for you Somerandom - I'll pop over to your diary thread and take a look - Well done for having the faith in yourself to take the plunge - so many people procrastinate until their lives are over on that one ! :T:T

last night I had an offer on an "ending soon" item and by the time we agreed a price - it was over :rotfl:I messaged him and hopefully he will buy it - we'll see !
  • Merry Christmas everyone!!!
  • Might not be doing as badly as I thought this month. I haven't put any effort into trying to sell things, but a backdated pay rise, cheque from my grandparents for Christmas and £10 from i-say surveys means I can bump up my total by another £130.
