That brings me up to £217.74, which is an awful lot more than I realistically expected this month and still a few bits building up behind the scenes.

In all seriousness, how does anyone ever make any money selling anything on Amazon?
Just went to list a book on there - £1.50 + the standard £2.80 postage - and Amazon want £1.70 in fees! Yeah sure just take more than my literal item price in fees that makes sense. Leave me £2.60 with which to pay a £3.30 postage cost in real life.
How could that ever possibly be justified.
ETA: I'd have to sell it for £2.50 just to be left with enough money to pay for postage and nothing else - £2.10 more than anyone else is selling it for. Is there some trick or is literally everyone else just bleeding money?Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

£6.17 from checkoutsmart, £5.50 from quidco and £12.71 from an ebay sale.
Not sure I'll have much more to add before Christmas but I'm not giving up yet!

I sell on Amazon, it's my main source of extra income:j (after car boot sales of course).
The postage credit of £2.80 is for 2nd class mail which is what they recommend you use. Looks like you sent yours 1st class if it cost £3.30:eek:. Maybe it was because of it being last-minute with Christmas looming, that's why I put my inventory on holiday setting a few days ago as I didn't want to be caught out by feeling guilty and running at a loss by using 1st class post or people not getting their stuff by Christmas.
Yes, I agree on fees being high but it seems to even itself out because smaller, thinner books can often be sent as Large Letters and don't cost anything like the £2.80 to post that we get as postal credit. I've often sold books for over £10 each that only cost £1.51 to post. More expensive books will incur higher fees but the differential is greater. Plus, listing is so easy, can stay listed forever without having to be redone (unlike eBay) and there's the huge audience for your books. I try to avoid selling cheap books, anything where there are pages of them listed at really low prices, or anything that would be heavier than the £2.80 band.
I've also the advantage of having loads of free stamps. Well, not exactly free as I had to do postal surveys to get them but the work wasn't onerous and it saves using real money. I wouldn't have much use for the free stamps otherwise and it means the £2.80 postal credit is profit.0 -

It seems that the word has spread about how good they are and so I suggest you try logging into their site as early and often as you can each day, not waiting for a notification in your mailbox . HTH

Sugarplum is right, they are academics and on break now, so surveys are quieter, apart from the ones abroad. Had a bit of a run in with one who agreed to pay me in the end. I don't normally argue lol, I let it go, but this one was unfair.
What browser do you use? are you able to keep computer on all day or is it a case of in the evenings? You can get a notifier from the browser when the prolific academic page changes. This is what I use when I am on the laptop. it tells me when there is a new survey and when the status changes on my account, ie something goes payable.
hopefully you will have more in January when they are back.
I use firefox............never thought about it being the hols so will persevere in the new year,

I don't mind the mindless-ness sometimes and I sometimes just do the bare min to keep my daily bonus. It doesn't take long and now I've found I can do the ads through my phone browser I'll do them in an odd minute (though tonight I'm doing them on the pc!).

Thanks
am sure there is a notifier for ff as well, I use chrome and Iknow you can get it on IE. worth looking into. surveys do pop up at weekends and evenings, so notifier is very handy.0
