I would write back saying that your report explains the problem was not caused through user damage. It therefore has failed to last a reasonable period of time for a tv costing £x and the obvious conclusion, based on this inspection, is that the tv had a fault at inception that has now manifested itself. In effect they have sold you a lemon - the item was not of satisfactory quality because it was not sufficiently durable. You accept you have not proved this point beyond all reasonable doubt but you do not believe that is the burden of proof you need to meet. Furthermore, you believe the level of the review, undertaken by an experienced tv repairer, is appropriate given the amounts at stake.
I would further state I believed they were failing to meet their requirements to remedy the matter, as required under the SOGA ("within a reasonable time but without causing significant inconvenience to the buyer").
I would end by stating that unless they confirm they will take action to remedy the fault you will have the tv repaired and take legal action to recover your costs of repair, and of taking legal action.
emailed them back saying Im unhappy with their response and will be getting a report which I will send with a signed for letter. Plus I will be contacting Trading Standards to see if this fault is common with Samsung TV's. I will also be asking TS if the small claims court is an option I should be using0 -
You have been given good advice from a couple of members, CCL aren't trying to be awkward they have no obligation at the moment to agree repair or other as you haven't sent them the report. If the report is specific and agrees that the fault is inherent then they will deal with it but they don't have to do anything without the report.0

The Power supply pcb is the problem with your Samsung TV. Poor qualities Capacitors are used. After a period of time they dry out due the heat.
Working boards can be bought on EBay from £5.00 to £20.00 or a qualified person could replace the capacitors, they would cost a few pounds.
This is definitely classed as an inherent fault and as the law stands CCL are liable to pay all your costs incurred in getting it repaired including a report.

We have 4 Samsung tv's in our home, 1 is 7 years old the others range from 3-5 years old, we have never had any problems Which is strange if these Capacitors are of such poor quality, we're obviously just lucky.0
