I think there is a template letter somewhere on here.

You could write to all your creditors and see what offers they come back with

I have just saved a copy onto my computer and will edit it with my details and send copies off to some of the companies that I owe smaller amounts to. I now need to go and actually bank the cheque instead of continually sitting here and looking at it. I am working again tonight and actually looking forward to it.

You wont pay anybody off by sitting looking at the cheque - go and pay it in straight away, and enjoy your shift tonight.

I did go to the bank yesterday as planned but was told that I had missed the clearing cut off point so it would not actually register as being deposited in my account until today! :mad: Added to that it will not actually clear until next thursday because of the type of account I have. I was feeling so positive and in control of everything but now I just feel really down and pathetic.

Aww dont beat yourself up - the money will clear. It's only a week away you know !!!! Have you cancelled the car insurance etc?

Just keep remiding yourself how far you've come in the few days you've been here

No I have not done that yet I was so concerned about getting the transfer of ownership documentation filled in correctly and sent away that I forgot all about that. Thank you for reminding me I just feel bad because when I told my sister about selling the car and what I actually got for it she was as ever so nice about it and kept telling me that it was the best thing to do. Then she even offered to buy me a train ticket so that I can go to her birthday party to cheer me up.

It does sound like you have a lovely sister.

Now go and cancel the insurance, breakdown cover etc straight away - can you tell I've got my bossy head on

Yes I can tell I will go and do that now!

She is a wonderful sister but right now I just wish she would shout at me and tell me what a stupid irresponsible idiot I am if that makes any sense?
