Hi fellow savers :) A question for you all: I have a regular saver account connected to a bank account, adn I'm considering moving the latter to another bank, as the high interest period is finishing. Can I move only the bank account keeping the regular saver or do I have to move both?

If its nationwide then I would say yes, as you can fund the regular saver by cash or faster payment from another account, no requirement to fund from the bank account.

checking the T&C's there is no mention that you have to keep the account open, only that you have be a account holder when you open.

I have mine with 1p in it and moved banks but didn't switch so that maybe a option, as you get other benefits from being a current account holder, like the flexclusive accounts.

that could definitely be my way forwart, thank you :)
I was thinking about switching only to get the cash bonus of say first direct, while opening another account with lloyds to be my main account (and that would be a switch from barclay, which is my main account at the moment, but paying nothing). But maybe I can just open the LLoyd one, manually switch my DDs and my salary and theen switch the barclay to FD to get the bonus

    Does it seem feasible?

Yes open a donor account at a bank where you already hold one, set up 2 DD on this one, then switch that one, doesnt have to be the actual one you use for your main banking.

Just make sure you read the T&C's of the bank account switch, so for FD it requires you to switch then fund the account with 1k within three months to get the incentive.

So open a donor account barclays before you switch to lloyds, then switch from barclays to lloyds, then the new barclays account to FD.

If you are confident you will qualify for three bank account in such a quick succession.

My friend is looking at changing her bank account. I'm Hoping that my she will choose the Nationwide and we can both receive £100. (And I can then add it to my savings pot).
Have been doing a bit of money sort out this week. Rang a pension company - had a light bulb moment - that my serps from the age of 18 - 32 had been going into a private pension. Haven't had an update since 2003. Awaiting for an updated statement. Hopefully, it will put a little smile on my face.
Also whilst I was in my accounts folder, I found a letter about an old credit card talking about PPI. I have now filled in two forms for two different companies, hoping to get PPI back for morgage, car loan and 2 credit cards. Any monies received will also go in my savings pot.

I use to look forward to pay day so that I could go out and spend. Now I count the days till I can save! Is anyone else the same? I also find that I put the money away to buy things. Then find that I don't want to take the money out!!

    Hi all

Doing an update as don't think I will be able to salt away anymore this month unless I get some sales etc, which feels unlikely as all decluttering is going to the CS at the moment.

Really pleased though..£1859.17 for April. Go me!! :) Can't repeat it next month, but this thread is helping me push on in the months when I can put quite a bit away. Thanks all.

Hope everyone has a good week

No 140 signing in for March at £532, taking me to £2,032 for 2016.

Reading through the previous posts I am so impressed by you all!!! It's a great reminder to tighten my belt a bit more (March contained a few too many dinners out and flights being booked - I definitely need to be careful or I'll lose my way).

Nothing exciting to report other than being in receipt of a new (refurbished) mobile phone. My old phone went to mobile heaven last week and I managed to mess up all of my online bankingg access as a result lol! I felt so out of sorts not being able to check my balances every few days!
