I'm kicking off with £50 from my grandparents for Christmas
Was planning another £75 before payday at the end of the month but I've just switched energy supplier so will be having a double-DD month before my credit with E.on is refunded, so not committing to that just yet.
I've had a cracking start generally though: apart from this small-but-good-start saving, switching energy supplier (which I've been itching to do but waiting for the 49 day mark) will save me on average £10 per month, and I managed to do over £50 Amazon shopping for £3.60 including postage! This is a bit of a lie as some of the "savings" was from buying the £30 giftcard to get the £7 promo code, but I considered that spent when I bought the giftcard itself, as though it was a gift to future-Bobobski! Also, one of the things I've bought is a slow cooker (of course, discounted more than 50%) and apparently they're super energy efficient, and can take cheaper cuts of meat. Also should help me up my veggie intake.
Happy 2016 everyone!0 -

My income is wiped out by my expenditure on household stuff. I will therefore have to 'save' by adapting and making cutbacks as well as making money in other ways. eBay surveys cash back etc. Need some ideas as realise that this is not going to hit my rather modest but big for me target.
Anyone with ideas on how I should do it.
I am going to read through the old threads but that is a task in itself
This is my situation too. I save £100 a month as soon as I get paid and don't count it into any of my budget sheets. I have only just become able to save anything. I use cashback sites and shop around for everything, plus I am a little crazy when it comes to the electric usage in the house. I also find that other challenges, such as the Payment a day, or the sealed pot challenges help. Start little and it will increase.Moving on upSPC #382 ~ £40 banked

Counted up my accounts to date for 01/01 to compare against 31/01. Won't make much this month though as my higher mortgage amount probably hasn't been reduced in time for this month (should be deducted Tomorrow) & £740 will go out for car insurance in a few days :FMortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0
