No. 11 in the challenge reporting £1,720.04 for the month of July, bringing my total for the year so far to £14,880.02. I was really hoping to reach my total target for the year this month but have fallen just under £120 short. In fact I'll reach it tomorrow though because I've got more money coming in, some of which will go out again into my savings accounts straight away, so I'll come back tomorrow just to say I've reached my target!
Slowlyfading I'm terribly sorry but think I marked my most recent update as for "August" because it's nearly August (!), having a brain blip - if I did do that, I meant July!Very sorry.

Just wondering whether anyone has some quirky savings tips? I've been reading around the site/forums/t'internet over the last few days for new inspiration but I've found nowt.
I'm physically limited in how much I can save like most other people - my salary is fixed, evidently(!) no bonus, household costs are the same every month, I budget my food/eating out/fun money/all the rest of it... And I've started an "annual expenses" account to save for insurance, breakdown cover, holidays etc every month. Aaand I play around with bank accounts so the minimum I'm earning is 4% and that's a HtB ISA which I'll be switching to a LISA in due course. I'm just opening a basic Natwest account now so I can switch it to Halifax for the bonus and monthly "interest".
Now that I'm below where I wanted to be in a "savings potential" sense (thanks, boss) I'm looking at how to bring it back up again. I play all the free lotteries (won £30 on the registration plate one) and I use Onepoll, but that's about it. I've just signed up for Prolific Academic but there was only one survey on there. Most survey sites don't seem to be worth it when you have a full time job. I've considered an evening a week waitressing or something outside my day job, but since I'm a 40% taxpayer this would be unlikely to bring in even £100 p/m. Plus, I'm usually exhausted from my day job.
So, does anyone have any quirky tips?0 -

I managed £1755.75 this month, mostly thanks to my funds benefiting from the £ getting weaker... but still happy for now.
Well done to everyone, summer is a difficult time to save, so keep up the good work and keep being inspirational.

No 65 reporting savings for July.
Managed to save £500 this month,
This comes from a combination of money earned from overtime at my "real" work, money earned from surveys and mystery shopping and £225 profit from a month of matched betting.
Hoping to be able to save another £500 next month.
Good luck to everyone in this challenge. xxMake £10 per day in May challenge: £310/123.920 -

Few cool things that have happened;
- this is my record amount saved in a normal month!
- my cash saved in bank accounts has doubled from Jan 2016 to Jul 2016!
- S&S ISA has recovered from the Brexit effects so far, this was significantly helped by selling the majority of my holding in a housebuilder in April this year leading up to the EU referendum result!
