Not sure how much help it will be, but I did count to ten.
It's quite a long thread as I've explained a lot of the reasoning behind my decisions as well, good luck:-

This is what I'm doing, although I'm just at the beginning of my journey. You're doing great! :)
Thanks SF (sorry I missed your post - getting old, heheheh).
I wish I'd done it earlier.
Didn't start until I was forty.
    lol
Hope it works out, for both of us.

I would normally spend my weekends shopping but now the money is just sitting there, earning interest, while I explore different places and catch Pokemon!

Sometimes I wish I am not so sensible and be young and foolish for once. Haha

  • Hi all! It's been a terrible couple of months for me savings-wise (and time-wise, hence the lack of posts). Many unexpected outgoings, but I did scrape together 1k over 3 months. Hopefully, I'll be able to increase that soon enough. Although, I might have to move in October and that will be an additional expense...

Likely to hit my £10k target next month or the month after - not changing my target for now as we're having major building work done. Just sent an extra form for July.

£1400 for July, sf! Getting there unexpectedly by the grace of a paid back loan from over five years ago and a pension lump sum unexpected, as previously stated.

I've posted on the update form.

Had a look on the spreadsheet and think I may just be in the lead percentage-wise at this point, but as I've said, sheer fluke because of the loan and pension lump sum. No credit to me.
