Arbury. It's been years since I lived in that part of the town. Ahhh fun times. £80 000 cash savings seems like a very tough goal. But I think any target you set yourself would seem like a slough. I value my savings so much more and appreciate how difficult it is to accumulate it.

Tara dear, well done!! How long did that take you? Any tips??!!Arbury. It's been years since I lived in that part of the town. Ahhh fun times. £80 000 cash savings seems like a very tough goal. I agree, I think any decent target looks daunting from the bottom. I hope it's largely about keeping up the motivation and not falling off the wagon by saying "sod it, I'll never reach my goal but I've got a bunch of money, let's go spend it!". Something I'm prone to do0 -

Pay rises announced today: I got a lower pay rise than I was expecting and zero bonus. When I say "expecting", I mean my boss has told me several times what I should be expecting. That included a 5% bonus. Needless to say, I'm not a happy bunny right now and I feel like I have been lied to by my boss, with whom I have an excellent relationship. Well, had.
It puts me back a way on my savings so looks like I won't make that extra challenge I'd set myself and it's now unlikely I'll make my challenge target either.
Good news is that today is the first day in weeks I left work within an hour of my supposed finish time; lately I've been staying an average of 3 hours late every evening.0 -

What are your standard working hoours? What industry do you work in? I am knackered today after my 9th consecutive 12 hours shifts. This is not humane.
