Declaring £419.59 saved this month if I've done my sums right (I keep forgetting that my H2B ISA exists :o) which leaves me a very annoying £1.32 in the savings red :(

At least next month I'm guaranteed to be back in the black :j

I know I'm probably a bit late to the party but as I did start saving I was wondering if I could still join?!

I'm hoping to save £6,000 this year and so far I have saved £2,378.43.

    Hello,

I wanted to clear my overdraft before I started saving this year but I need the (admittedly illusory) psychological boost of seeing anything other than a big fat 0 in the savings pot so I've put in £2400 in June.
I'm still determined to clear the OD regardless and have really made the effort to curb my costly outings over the past few weeks, allowing myself only 1 big night one a month from now on. Also, I will move out from my flat and try to find a much cheaper flatshare in September so this will help (love the comfort but in the end I just can't accept overpaying that much, bloody inflated London rents). Now, provided I don't increase the OD and find the right balance between spending and enjoyment in July during my 5-week holiday, I should be able to clear it by the end of October, while still contributing to the savings pot so that I can reach my target.

Yey to me being pragmatic and diligent! Seeing others do the same inspires!

    Hello everyone,
I don't know what it is about June but every year I give in to a lot of unnecessary spending. I have spent so much on new clothes and weekends away to see loved ones. So I'm reporting an off target £1300 for June. I have a few large bills due in July so I think that will be very similar.

I can't believe that at the half way point I have save £4,689 and only have £1,311 to go :T

This challenge has definitely motivated me to do better than i would have so huge thanks to slowlyfading for that

Well June has been a traumatic month hasn't it? Unexpected referendum result and political resignations majorly affecting stock markets - luckily I've only got a tiny no. of shares, so I'm not too worried about it. However in the longer term we are considering buying a small property overseas, so I hope the Pound recovers by then!

Savings have gone fairly well this month, although I stumped up a wedge of cash for our extended family to go see no.2 son appearing in a musical at our local theatre. Also had some unexpected bills for car tyres and brakes, but they've gone on the credit card so won't actually get paid until August. Declaring £2406.01 for June (yes, I am including pennies!).

3 years 3 months to go until FIRE (financial independence, retire early)

    Happy saving everyone.
