  • Does anyone know the answer to this money saving question? Or is it a myth (seems unlikely given the poster)?

The one we go to has fairly strict 'rules of entry' in that you have to work in the food industry, the nhs, BT and, IIRC the police or fire services.

Going to one of these places for the first time is an enlightening experience! It makes you realise just how much stuff supermarkets waste (which obviously is paid for by their loyal customers!). The one we use has stuff from the major supermarkets, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose (their prices are almost as dreamland as M&S, but we get them at least half proper price so we are happy).

Hi, really sorry for the ridiculously late reply to this, but I'd forgotten all about this thread until now. OK, the shop I was referring to is a one-off local shop, not a chain. However, there are at least 3 or 4 other 'similar' shops in my area (Sheffield) so I'm assuming such an establishment exists in most large cities in the UK? I suppose the only way to find one is to ask about? Sorry I can't be more informative.

    Hello All,

I work at a M&S retail store. We have these burgers with cheese in the middle advertised on television, despite this we are only receiving 8 packets (1 tray!!) a day. I understand this to be a fault with the ordering system or something along those lines.
    .

    Wouldnt happen at Tesco

so is it TOP SECRET name or something??? i don't live in sheffield, but YOU could help someone by giving the damn name of the place! :money:
  • I know there are many loyal M&S customers on the forums. I simply want to avoid any disappointment and inform anyone who is after these burgers.

No worries, someone will always have a pop !!
    Onwards and Upwards ;)
  • I managed to get my hands on these burgers last weekend. They are well tasty on a warm ciabatta roll :D

  • To save dissapointment - why not make your own??? Takes ten minutes and saves ££££'s

Home made beefburgers are the best - just use mince - squash firmly into ball - stick cube of cheese in middle, seal into ball, squash a bit - cook - yum!

(not sure if thats the way delia describes how to cook - but makes perfect sense to me!) lol
    I'm a nutter :j

Crikey, I think you are being needlessly aggresssive, but each to their own, I suppose  . You need to join and they are a bit picky about who they let in (you have to work in the food industry, BT or the emergency servises IIRC) but here goes, oh impatient one, it's called Company Shop (known locally as Marrens) and is situted in Tankersley, just outside Sheffield. Happy now?

Gotta say webuserisme, that your a lot more patient than i would have been. Well done for remaining polite - I just don't see the need for people to be rude when you try to help. Perhaps mse is going the way of some other sites. Thanks for your pointers I've found them very helpful.

  • To be fair, getting that information out of webuserisme was a bit like dragging blood out of a stone, and I thought Ivan Konstantinov was very restrained. We got there in the end, though.
