  • Hi everyone!

Spend day for me today. Have fuelled the car, done monthly butchers shop, and a big grocery shop (it needs to last over a week due to the days I'm working next week).

I planned to do some batch cooking and make up some business items today, but I just crashed when I got home from shopping. Think my body is telling me I've been doing too much for too long without taking a break. So I spent most of the afternoon on the sofa. Went to school this evening to watch little ones in their play, then took the scenic route home to see the Christmas decorations in town and on some of the houses.

We have put our Christmas tree up and I have wrapped the presents to go under it. I'm pleased that most of my shopping is done so there will be no last minute rush.

I have another day off tomorrow so will hopefully get back on track with batch cooking etc.
  • Evening, from a lovely shiny desk :D I am totally zonked but 3 days off now yay !! Today has turned out to be another NSD, I have had a lovely few hours whilst it was quiet in work shopping for my sons Christmas gifts, I could quite get used to that shopping and someone else footing the bill.
Another job ticked off my list, lunch was from home and so was tea.

The news from California is beyond upsetting those poor people and families, scary bit for me is if a young just married couple with a few weeks old baby is willing to throw their lives away for whatever reason I haven't a clue how or who will be able to stop the craziness and if it turns out to be IS related God help us all. :(

Night all I have a school run and shopping trip tomorrow then home to put up the tree hopefully A lovely way to start the weekend.

    Night all x

  • Quick check in from me tonight too. I'm shamefully admitting that I just can't seem to get an early night. I only stopped at 10pm tonight and I just don't seem to have enough hours in the day at the moment. Must focus more on the mental health stuff.
Today I'm grateful for having the confidence to stand up for myself, getting the shopping done and out of the way and having good friends.

Evening all. Sorry for not posting since early yesterday, yesterday became a horrible and stressful day in many ways which resulted in a headache that is still lingering

Today was an NSD so 2/15 now (other than house sorting bits that have been budgetted already and I have no plans to spend tomorrow

    Today I am greatful for:
    - The Velux windows amplifying the soundof the rain
    - Progress on sorting the house, no matter how small
    - Neurophen :p

    Good morning!

Fmess - hope today is a steady day for you and that you can find some breathing space. Have you tried st john's wort?

thrifty - excellent result on the nursery fees, especially as you didn't have to kick up a fuss first.

bob - those immunisations sound nasty! So many 'foreign bodies' for dd's own body to fight against. Hope she doesn't suffer for too long.

I love the idea of going to see some christmas lights - a free outing and no leccy bill attached!

Had trouble with the web on the tablet last night, so... yesterday I was grateful for getting out for a walk, for dd passing her taekwondo grading, for the pressure in dh's non-operated-on eye being reasonable, for finding the leak in the roof (the consequences of the leak aren't great, obviously, but at least we found it and have got a pot under it!), for dd falling asleep early so all our climbing in and out of the loft didn't disturb her.

    Hi all.

Fmess - hope you feel better soon.

Bob - hope baby settled down eventually.

Tonight we have DD's birthday sleepover, so I will be getting organised for that today. Not much else going on here today thankfully as the last few days have been manic.

    Apologies I didn't post yesterday.

Nothing much to report - Total savings hopefully 250.00 over next yr.

    1. Sky due for renewal Jan, got offered 1/2 price for 10 months and other 2 months full price. Reduced my package to basic one so just paying 10 pounds a month instead of 18 I pay now. Saving of 112 pounds for the yr. Can't cancel it as enjoy sky programmes and need the recording facility. Got a month left to watch all the box sets, turning into a Desperate Housewife lol

    2. Did the Martins collective switch gas/electric not a great saving 56 pounds a year and 30 pounds back off money supermarket. Was with Bgas already through Sainsbobs so don't need to pay cancellation fees.

    3. Got AA credit card 0% 22 mths no fees, can transfer 2600 so will save 52.00 on transfer fees, rest will put onto virgin 2 % transfer fee still at 0% interest.

Yesterday had my new bedroom carpet fitted and cushion flooring in my bathroom, already paid for. Happy my house is getting straight for xmas, took a door off and trimmed the bottom of it. Go me!! Stupid fitter left it scraping on the lino I hope to replace doors upstairs anyway next yr so doesn't matter its not perfect. Spent rest of day moving furniture.

Will be a quiet weekend as my bank account is low. Got lots of food and drink in. Haven't started christmas shopping yet but set sensible limits with daughters and still have my sainsbobs vouchers in hand.

Today will do and get butter, sugar and potatoes - am I only person who does a monthly shop online and forgets essentials lol

Aww Fmess try not to overthink things, eat properly and get outside more in daylight. This month is hard time of yr for us singletons, I going to try and meet up more with my old dog mates always cheer me up, its so odd still walking without my mutley. Just hope rain and wind will go away.

LSD my daughter went recently to Chester Zoo she said it was amazing with the new islands, even beats Disney Animal Kingdom. However it is expensive. I have a small zoo near me which I am member of ,perfect for taking 4 yr old to. Not too much walking and not too busy, great park to play in.

Dolly good luck with the sleepover.

    Great savings there Calling :)

Thanks for the thoughts Apple & Dolly. She was pretty much ok in the end.

Apple - that's great about your daughters grading, not so great about the leak though that sounds expensive?

Dolly - hope the sleepover goes well.

Fmess - hope you are feeling ok. Sorry you have found it difficult recently.

Shortie - sorry you had a bad day.

CCL - hope your day has been ok.

WK - sounds like you've got the Christmas mood started :)

Just for me - I agree, the news from America is very worrying..

MissTara - I agree putting things in your diary does help for motivational purposes.

Made another PAD of £10. Now up to £100 this week. Have another £379 to hit my stretch target.

I suddenly realised I've been a Turtle for a year now. Really happy about that :)

    NSD today.

    Have a good weekend all.

Today I am grateful for the sunshine, for not having to buy dd a dress for her various performances as I discovered one in the wardrobe, for finding g-f scotch pancakes in m&s (dd adores them!), for giggles with dd + neighbour, for no more rain.

Ta Bob. I'm bracing myself for more tomorrow but hey ho. I have a lot to be thankful and I do remind myself that

It was an NSD today for me, so 3/15 so far.

I may need to top up petrol tomorrow but that's within budget. I have a free dog training session to go to (rest are budgetted for if we continue going, which I strongly suspect we will do) but will have the kids wih me so need to plan food and drink that they will actually consume (which can sometimes be a bad guess, lol)

Weekends are by far my biggest danger point so really need to stay focussed. Like how I eat rubbish when I forget I'm on a diet

3 things to be greatful for:
    - My ability to put my current cr*p to one side to listen to another colleague's concerns and personal work worries. It reminds me that I'm still grounded enough to recognise when others need help
    - A super awsome husband who takes time out of his super busy day to walk a dog that is not yet ours
    - Knowing I get to spend time with my kids as it's the weekend - woo hoo!
