We let ours sleep where he wants but your wellbeing is being affected as well, if the cats affecting your wellbeing then As long as the cat comfortable and safe I wouldn't worry.0

I'm yet to find a way. Our cat isn't allowed in our bedroom (was a rule when we moved as previously she had as it was her place away from our other cat at the time) the bedroom door is usually shut but now even if she does venture in if I'm putting washing away or something, a clear of the throat and her name and she knows to vacate the room. On the odd occasion she manages to grab a kip on the duvet she is not surprised when I pick her off. To have her sleep on the bed simply means I get a bad nights sleep, OH still sprawls out, the cat sprawls out to the size of a small Bengal tiger and I'm left curled like a contortionist trying to sleep.
Unfortunately we can't shut the lounge off from our bedroom so on regular occasion I get woken at sunrise to feed her, this usually involves me sleepily following her downstairs, trying to catch her and put her outside. I hope that if she doesn't get fed at that time, it will discourage her from scratching the door. To be fair, she doesn't do it every morning. Our previous cat did though, every morning between 4am and 6am...without fail for 6yrs....
We could shut the cat in the dining room / kitchen, she'd have access to her food and we could put her blanket in there too (we got rid of the litter tray as kit never used it) but just don't bother, it seems a bit mean and I don't want her not to be able to wake us if she needs a pee. :eek:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Couldn't you leave dry food down for her and fit a cat flap?0 -

Its not possible for us to fit a cat flap and she does have food left down for her - which she either eats, then scratches, or ignores and then scratches.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

We never used to let our previous cats sleep on the bed, they used to wake us up, but Pixie has obviously slept on somebody else's bed in her former life. She sleeps with us on Friday/Saturday nights when it's not such an issue if she wakes us up. Recently she's also been there on Thursday nights...... I think she might be taking over.......
Otherwise she sleeps in her bed on the tumble drier in the kitchen, which sits on top of the washing machine so it's high up. We usually shut the kitchen doors at night, but I'll often find her in that bed during the day when she has full access to the house, so it's a place she likes sleeping.Make £2025 in 2025

One of my cats sleeps on my bed during the day and in my bed when I'm in it! I'm used to it after 13 years. She's a big cat and takes up most of the bed and always has to be touching me in some way. It's quite comforting and saves having a hot water bottle on a cold night! She only wakes up either when my alarm goes off or when I get up in the morning.
Her sister sleeps in different places, most recently on a dining chair, but she has never slept on my bed but does sleep on the spare bed from time to time - she changes her sleeping places regularly.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
