It's not a case of letting them sleep on my bed as their domestic help I don't really get a say lol
I do occasionally put them out if my knee is hurting and I can't get comfy with them on the bed. They tend not to talk to me the next day and get right back on as soon as I get upFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Surely the question has to be - "Does your cat let you sleep in its bed?"
This is SO true
On the occasions that my GrandKitten does come up when I do he settles right in the middle and, as he sleeps stretched out and is over a metre long, it means I get the choice of sleeping balanced along either edge or like a starfish :rotfl:2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

never in a million years would I let an animal sleep in my bed, I couldn't possible cope with the hairs to be honest but I was told by a vet at one time that it really isn't good for the animal to be breathing in human
sweat, dead skin. etc etc etc.
She has the full run of the house downstairs but hall door leading to the bedrooms is very firmly shut.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
6 cats, door always open everywhere so they sleep wherever they like - including my and my daughter's beds, top of wardrobe, bathroom sink etc etc0

my cat comes upstairs to bed when i do, of his own accord. He settles down on my bed and doesn't bother me until early morning (ie way before I need to get up). So at that point I chuck him out of the bedroom and shut the door. He has the rest of the house to settle in, but I usually find, when the alarm clock goes off, he's settled on the hall carpet outside my door.
On my bed is fine, in my bed isn't (way too much risk of getting claws in my legs/feet if theres no covers between cat and me).0 -
Yes, they do. Not so much in the summer but in winter they share bodyheat.
Siouxsie likes to sleep on my legs/hips and if I turn over she'll just sort of... float there whilst I turn underneath her. Same if I adjust the covers.
Donut's a bit more skittish and will get up if he's been laying near me and I move, but he will come back later.
But they move around a lot and sleep on the sofa/chairs etc as wellAqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

OH put a stop to it when he moved in because he couldn't handle them leaping onto his chest as he was dropping off. The choice was cats and having to unpeel him from the ceiling five times a night or putting him first for a change.
Interestingly enough, there's one sound asleep on his chest right now as he's fallen asleep on the sofa and that's not a problem for him.
They take full advantage when he's away or up late (and never leap about on me), but always leave the bedroom unquestioning when he comes in.
They vary between the landing, the stairs, the sofa, armchair, the floor (?), the top of the tumble drier and any unattended piles of clean washing. Surprisingly enough, they don't seem particularly bothered by the change in arrangements.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
my cat normally comes up to bed with me. in HIS own time. he has a lovely satin covered pillow at the bottom of the bed. He likes to have a cuddle with me for ten minutes or so and then retires to his pillow for the rest of the night. unless I am ill - and he has an uncanny knack for knowing just where a bit of warmth would be welcome! in which case he will curl up against me all night. as for 'not being healthy to breathe in human cells' etc - ummm - don't they do that all day anyway? and they have lived with us humans for a loooong time. I am pretty sure they have adapted by now.0

Yes he usually sleeps on our laps or the cat activity thing in the living room. When we go to bed he usually comes through and sleeps on my hip. I toss and turn all night so sometimes ends up at the bottom of the bed attacking my feet if I move.
Moving house soon and I am due my first child so he won't be allowed in the bedroom in the new house. Couldn't risk him being near the babies moses basket. We have door stops for the bathroom where the litter tray is and the living room door is always a jar for his food and water. He has never been allowed on food surfaces such as dining table or kitchen worktops and is discouraged from standing in the kitchen.0 -
I had three of them on the bed last night, plus one of the dogs - just as well it's a large bed!0
