Kitchen fitter help/advice urgently needed please

I've an induction hob (fitted the kitchen myself) that is just held in as was suggested by the spring clamps - occasionally I pop it out to clean the crumbs out that accumulate - I havent decided to put sealant in. It is a tight fit though - I can only get it out by pushing from underneath - so if fitter has made the right size hole that holds it secureley I'd say fine - if it moves at all in the hole I'd say no !
Double oven tripping - who did the electrics ? it sounds like it isnt on a high enough rated circuit.
I did mine myself as I was quoted £1.5k to fit it, which on reflection is probably a fair price given the amount of work involved and the risk. I have the odd chip and miscut - which I accept because I did it - had a fitter done it then I wouldnt be happy - but then I'm not sure they'd be happy buying a new worktop to replace the original and trying to recut it !0 -
Marktheshark thank you it is wired into the original electric cooker point x0

If not please do not use the appliances, it sounds like he has wired in to the Kitchen ring main and not a 30 amp separate feed, this is very dangerous indeed if it is the case.
The offer to fit the new suggests he is covering his tracks.
I second that - but add that induction hobs can be very highly rated so check that is on the right circuit as well as the oven.0 -
Beaker 141 its on the same feed as the oven, its only the grill tripping not the main oven x0

It still should have an electrical safety installation certificate, your house insurance is often invalid without it.
If he is not registered with a certified body he should not be wiring anything.
Tripping out suggests the feed is either underrated due to old wiring which is a fire risk or a leak to earth .45 and above which is also dangerous.
Ask what his competence is for electrical safety and which body he is registered to.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Should of said its on an 32 amp fuse x0

Hob is 7.4kw - which with all rings drawing power suggests a draw of 30amps - that could be on top of your cooker and grill.0 -
