  • Rainbow, I'm with you on so many things! The which is more shameful - my eating or my spending - is something I think pretty regularly! And I'm working hard at the moment to declutter as much of my life as possible. It makes me feel so much better when I don't have a bunch of junk surrounding me all the time!

YAY FOR CUTTING UP THE CARDS!

Haha, glad I'm not the only one! Food really is my biggest downfall. Not actual meals, but junk, snacky things such as pastries, crisps and chocolate. I'm really trying to eat healthier but the cold weather and stressful work day makes me want to comfort eat!

I have so much junk stored in my bedroom and house, it's unreal. I want to declutter pretty much everything. If I declutter my house and finances, I hope that will reflect in my mind as well. I want it all to be almost Zen like! If I can just simplify things and get everything in order than that would leave me room and energy to achieving the dreams I had before my debt and stressy life go in the way.

4 credit cards in four months! I'm so jealous! Must feel fabulous! I've done one and it didn't feel as good as I thought it would. Instead of focusing on what I'd achieved I was anxious about starting the next credit card. It's nice to see how positive you're feeling about it all and how well you're doing :) xxx

Thank you! xx It almost becomes like a game. See how many cards I can close as quickly as possible. Psychologically, it feels like a massive step when I have paid off and closed the card as it means, that part of the debt is over and done with. It's history.

Rather than concentrating on amounts, I see my debt in four parts now. I know the loan is going to take the longest however, I should be able to pay off and close the overdraft in January. Then my Natwest credit card will only take 3 more months after that.

I also realise that it makes more sense to pay off the loan and not worry about the MBNA credit card which is on 0% but personally, I would prefer to pay it off first. This would then leave me with just one debt. One single payment going out each month and mentally, it would make me feel better.

We will ALL get there! Sooner or later. :T:T:T

Not much to report today. Stayed in, nice and warm while the wind howled and rain poured outside. I quite enjoy whether like that when I don't have to go out. Everything seemed even cosier inside.

I went through some of my make-up bits and discovered I have 3 sealed mascaras and a half a dozen lipsticks! Who needs this much?

I was doing some reading and its advised that you need to change your mascara every three months. So if you open a nice, shiny one on say, 1st January 2016 - you would only need to purchase 3 more that year. This means I need to buy only one mascara next year as I already have three. That should cut some costs! The one I'm currently using needs to be replaced soon but I think I will stretch it out until 1st January. It just makes it simpler because then I know that I need to replace mine on 1st April, 1st July, and 1st October.

It probably sounds silly that I'm making a big deal of this but you're looking at someone who used to buy mascaras every month or so. I used to consistently forget when I'd purchased them and used to think that I had been using them for months which would then result in my buying a new one. And repeat! Well, no more!

The same goes for blusher, powder, foundation and eyeliner. I think I'm going to note down what days these products were opened and check how long they're supposed to last before they need to be binned. In 2016, I will only buy the make-up I need.

Okay, enough with the make-up talk. I'm probably boring any guys who may be lurking, lol. On another note, I really do want to change bank accounts because I want to draw a line between my normal account usage and the overdraft I'm paying back. However, I don't quite have the nerve to ask the bank I work for to pay my salary into my account at X bank and not into my account with the bank itself. Awkward.

So you'll be down to one debt in April! That's amazing. If it's better for you then it's better - means it'll get paid. If it doesn't work you'll give up :) can't believe you're getting through it so quick.
I'm only naughty with chocolate but I'm nuts for it! Eating loads since I've gone back on the implant.
Oh going through your make up. That's a good way to avoid the big jobs lol. But it's a good job to do. You just chuck more in like you say. Id start a new mascara for the Christmas party x

    Loan 2 £300/£5800
    Total £5500/£13800

I think the reason why I'm getting through this quick is down to my OCD tendencies rather than self discipline! Plus my 3 debts are all around the £1500 mark. if I can get these done and dusted then I can throw everything I can spare to the big loan. It would probably be simpler to have one payment going out as well rather than 3 smaller ones.

Haha, chocolate is the one thing I can't give up. But maybe it's because I am so weak willed? I dread to think what I would have been like if I was hooked on smoking!

Sorting out my make-up was a small job and something I felt better doing than nothing at all that cold, rainy day. I'm working myself up to tackling the wardrobe! Annnd since it's Christmas, I think I can crack open a mascara a little earlier! x ;)

Oh I wasn't picking on you. It has to be done! And it's better when you open your make up bag and can make out what's in there.
I need to do some more big jobs too :( trying to order polyfilla but my code won't work.
Incentive for sorting your wardrobe - I just got loads on eBay for a jumper! No idea why! Plus got my SIL into it and she's doing really well on her clothes too! You could see natwest off sooner or you could use it to make overpayments on the loan whilst still keeping to your payment schedule? X

Ahhhh, no! I didn't think you were picking on me! But I know I was being lazy, lol. Hopefully, I can tackle something bigger next time! I have sold lots of things on Ebay but never clothes! It's funny but I never considered selling clothes. I have loads so I will try and sort through it all. I might do jeans and trousers on Friday, dresses of Saturday and maybe coats and jackets on Sunday.

... Or maybe I'll just do Friday and Saturday and have a lazy day on Sunday. :o

Do you mean your site code with the Pollyfilla? And yes, paying off something sooner sounds pretty good! I shall sell as much as I can. x

Clothes can be tough because there are soooo many posted on there but worth listing it twice before giving to charity. Next stuff does well.
No I literally mean polyfilla. My flat is full of holes and cracks lol.
I'm doing all my ebays this Sunday night. Got a nice offer so I'm going for it. Then I'm having a break til mid January I guess as I don't know if there's interest during the sales? I'm not good at interpreting eBay.
Hope your stuff is going well :) my money is going so wrong :( xxx

Wow, I can imagine. I'll definitely post them up twice before I take them to the charity, in that case. Oooh, I have some Next stuff! Thanks for the tip! :) I guess it makes sense why people would be interested for in the real sales than eBay sales this time of year. I'll have a good look through ebay before posting!

Oh, I see! I bet it gets draughty in there. I had a few cracks in my bedroom near the bed last winter and it chilly and damp! I hope you're able to get the cracks and holes filled up soon!

Thank you. It seems to be on track. Oh dear. I'm sorry it's not the case for you. I shall come have a nosey at your diary in a bit. xx I keep meaning to subscribe to a few so I know when new posts are up! :o

  • Hello!

I haven't been updating as much as I like due to technical difficulties. I think something's wrong with my charger. Sometimes it will charge and sometimes it just doesn't. May need to get that looked at soon because it's so annoying to have your computer switch off when you're in the middle of something.

Anyway, moving on. Monday was ... difficult due to it being well, Monday and also because I hate my job with a fiery passion. it was so incredibly busy but they may have had something to do with it being the last working day of the month. However, I'm happy to report that Monday was a NSD.

... As was Tuesday! However, for some reason, it was stupidly busy again. I took a packed lunch on both days and came straight back home after work so no spending!

Today was even worse. It was hectic and stressful and they expect so much from us, it's crazy. I really did feel like walking out today. My throat is in bits from talking to so many customers and my hands are aching from typing. Also, I have a dozen paper cuts!

Today wasn't a NSD. It was very much a spend day. Not by a lot though. I took a packed lunch with me but come lunch time, I didnt fancy it. I had it for dinner instead along with a cup of soup. Instead I went to Greggs and bought a sausage and bean melt and a can of coke for £2.15. I just needed something warm and comforting, I guess. Then after work, I stopped by the Coop and bought a bag of mint Aero bubble chocolates for a £1.

    I'm definitely an emotional eater!

Going to make sure that Thursday and Friday are both NSDs.

Also, sorry for suddenly whining about my job. It's always been an issue but recently it's bothering me more and more. I know I should consider myself fortunate to have one in the first place. It's just sometimes ... it all gets too much.
