I'm kinda in the bad books with OH just now as Ive been talking about decorating the flat and I may have replied to a few people who are looking for flat shares in Glasgow.
I know its not what we agreed and I can understand why he's upset but I'm thinking okay we've both agreed we want to get out of debt and save up for a house (especially since we have the A word hanging over our head - yes SS arnt looking at moving FLP from Gandma and Grandads just now but what about in 2 years? 5 years? 10? God forbid OH's parents die suddenly (my dad passed away out of the blue so I know first hand it can happen) then what will we do?)
YES our current finances allow us to do that but renting out the spare room will allow us to do it quicker. Sort of like if your driving cross country in a beetle or a sports car. Both are cars but one will get you there quicker.
Im sure it will work itself out

Every time I try to write to you something goes wrong - can't log on or something! Grr very frustrating.
Anyway, good idea on getting a lodger before you get too comfortable just you two.
And exciting buying a new place. Buy what you want :) in a good catchment obviously but you'd want that for your own family. That's lovely.
I'm sorry about that bloke at work being cruel. And I'm sorry about FM. And I'm sorry about your dad.
Good that oh will have to pay back his insurance though :)
I am rubbish at paying off overdrafts so I get cash transfer credit cards (MBNA, Virgin, Barclays). Maybe an idea? Then no monthly fees :)

Phew, I've just worked my way through your whole diary - what a rollercoaster! You're doing so well, though, especially with all that you've been through.

Moving Glasgow to Paisley is something I can help with. I lived in Glasgow all of my childhood and I loved it, the idea of jumping on a bus and being city centre in 20 mins is something I never imagined not having. My husband grew up in Clydebank which seemed a million miles away to me and I insisted that I'd never move that far out but d'you know what? I got older, I stopped going into town, I had a baby and now we live in Duntocher (stones throw from Clydebank) and I love it. It helps that I drive, though, because I work just outside the city centre, but what I'm trying to say is that although it seems soooo far away, it's really not that bad.

Maybe Im being a bit harsh with the Paisley bashing, its lovely we go there every weekend to see PIL and FLP but I guess that would be the problem if we lived in Paisley we would be expected to go round all the time and look after FLP or go to the shops or take OBIL (other brother in law) to the hospital when he has a fit. which don't get me wrong wouldn't be the end of the world but its just constant at least with us living in Glasgow we get a bit of breathing space from the whole situation.
Speaking about the situation there seems to be some confusion at the SS meeting they said BIL could have as much access as he wanted to FLP providing he was supervised but yesterday SS called BIL and said he was getting more access to FLP by getting two contact centre visits and its like......everyone was at the same meeting so how could the outcome be totally different. Apparently SS had another meeting after the main meeting and decided against what original meeting outcome and its like well thats not right because 1) BIL lawyer wasnt present to argue his case 2) BIL wasnt present just to argue and 3) you cant just change your mind after 10 minutes!

The landlord came round yesterday and we laid the cards on the table and just said we dont want a FM for at least 6 months, he agreed and even said he would decorate the place before August to make it more appealing :j:beer::j He even thanked us for treating the place like a home and we are pleasure to have as tenants.

In terms of debt busting Im counting down the days until Friday in the mean time however a small payment to the CC of £5.66.
Now that FM has moved out the flat looks so BIG and BARE I was looking at notonthehighstreet and wayfare thinking of getting some furniture (seen an awesome side table thats a floor lamp with a nice price tag of £150 and dont even get me started on the fun fair lighting at BHS Im honestly in love :smileyhea and then the little voice in the head whispers " you have money on your credit card" and Im like NO! bad voice Even though its great...and it would be an investment...and awesome...and great and more appealing when we decided to flat share again :rotfl:)

Oh my god how cool are those BHS lights?! I will not buy...I will not buy...I might buy - haha!

No I totally understand your reservations now, I thought you were a bit concerned with not being in Glasgow - same as I was. You set your own boundaries, though :)

That's so bizarre about SS changing their mind without any explanation - is there any legal recourse to that or is it just a case of you have to dance to their tune? Unfortunately it looks like they'll be in your lives for the foreseeable so sometimes you just have to go with it and plead your case - feel for you though, especially FLP - he won't know what's happening!

FLP has always had a social worker from the second he came into this world but it was always our hope that BIL and exGF would get a grip, get the help they needed and SS would be out of FLP life before he could remember anything (exGF's other son had SS in his life since he was 8 and had to attend panel meetings regarding where he stayed and how his mums drug abuse affected him) but with each passing day it looks more and more unlikely.
FLP is honestly such a little sweetheart however hes so cuddly and cute and I just want to take him home with me forever. The last thing I want is for this to affect him all his life I read kids growing up in stressful circumstances as prone to anxiety and depression. but I guess there is a long way to go before that happens. OH and I are taking him back home for Easter. He'll love it fresh air, loads of beaches, massive farms and every year my cousin organizes an Easter Egg hunt in the local woods.

Thank the lord its payday tomorrow! Im very excited because I got my payslip through from W2 (remember how I said it was so unpredictable I couldn't include it in the SOA?) 139.99, since there is no council tax thats another £100 and OH is giving me £70 as I paid for his first months car insurance that's £309.99 right there
    :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
Ive budgeted that I would pay £40 from W1 but havn't had a chance to view the wage slip as of yet but Im still impressed!

Ive went through the budget again with a fine tooth comb and I think there are a few things I can cancel going forward.
Im paying £5 for the 123 account and because I have no savings Im getting something like £5.80 cashback
£10 to Lloyds for a control on my account which means I dont get charged if I go overdrawn
£23 to the council gym - yes I want to loose weight but unfortunately working two rota jobs means Im not always available to go to the classes I want plus there is a pure gym just down the road or even better there is a residential gym downstairs that I could use FOC - granted its not a top of the art, where the rock goes to train kinda gym but then again Im not in the rock kinda shape.

Next month Im not sure how much I can chuck towards the debt as I owe Y £50 for the concert ticket *I honestly nearly chocked on my tea when she told me) plus I have the London trip in April with BB (Bestie Buddy). BB and I were thinking of getting the overnight down which arrives at like 9am do tourist, concert and then home but my mum said she would rather stay overnight and travel up the next day because when my grandma and granddad done the trip in the one day my granddad fell and that was the start of his senial dementia and all the time when shes telling me this Im like.....................right............okay....you do realise mum going to London and back in the same day was'nt the cause of it right?
:eek::eek::eek: That reminds me I owe BB for the MUSE ticket but he said he can wait and he knows Im debt busting to the extreme.

Claree__x Ive agreed once I clear the overdraft and the credit card then I'll treat myself to a funfair light but the question is what one? I have my eye on 3! (after paying Y and BB back of course :D:p:D) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You sound so positive! I love it! Really pleased for you :) you can do this. Just don't put off paying it off so the lights go in the sale haha!
Lots planned too which sounds great. That's a massive overpayment. It's all going the right way.

Thanks Kitten! I'm feeling more and more positive granted yes OH's family situation isnt ideal and Im missing FM like crazy. I feel for the first time I have a clear goal in my head and its like lets do it!

OH gave me his half of the bill money plus £70 extra he owed which went straight on the credit card! So W1 wage slip is up and I managed to get £1324. Im currently on track to get an extra bonus in my April pay of £250 (will find out more next month so fingers crossed!)

    PAYDAY!

£335 payment to CC! Thanks to no council tax this month.

Im really wanting to get out of debt ASAP but cant think of any other way to top up my income without getting another part time job but the problem with that is my 8 week W1 rota.
I guess I need to remember this isn't a sprint or a race. I'm not going to win anything for getting out of debt quicker so slow and steady.

Cards on the table I got a little over excited seeing that my CC was within clearing reach so I just HAD to make an extra payment and its now all full cleared (I even paid a little extra to cover next months interest) It feels so good! 1 down and 2 to go (Not that Im too bothered about HMRC as they are interest free)
Problem with overdraft though is they can only reduce the overdraft £10 a time which means its going to be harder to make a "loose ends" payment but I'll figure it out :P
