Deciding on a first credit card.

Looking back with the benefit of hindsight at when I started to rebuild my credit nearly 7 years ago, I would not have done it any differently. My track was Vanquis, Argos Card and Aqua Advance. In fact my only wrong turn was lately when I became eligible for Prime. In preference to several others I settled on an MBNA which has turned out to be just about as bad as it gets: A credit limit which is way too low and the information that if I applied for a limit increase it would result in a new full credit search!
So above is my recommendation which may not work for anyone else but worked for me and my warning.
Overall I give MBNA 20,000 black marks and I can't really think of anything good to say about them. Over to you MBNA.0 -
The op would still not be able to hear what the automated voice was saying, best option is father to ring.
Totally agree, there was uncertainty about whether they would need to speak to an advisor if their Dad rang.
This is just to show there is no advisor just an automated system so it will be ok for their Dad to ring for them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Would it be worth @amyt1 also seeing if she can grant her dad third-party authorisation to call up and make enquiries on the account on her behalf if needed in future?0
