BIN or Make an offer

  • You say BIN offer but then state they won. So did they still bid or did you add a BIN for the price which they then bought?

People often bid over what an item's worth because they get carried away. Offering more on a set price is a common scam.

In that case was it an item that is hard to get a hold of? If so being willing to pay a little more to have matching items makes sense. If not I get wanting a set but seems they're a bit stupid lol.

You cannot rely on that: stupidity of the buyer is a rare virtue for the seller. Cherish it, embrace it, as it will happen less often.

In the days when people were signing up en masse, you could realistically expect profit on old tat but eBayers are becoming much wiser.

As I said, completed listings is the nail in the coffin for sellers. This only serves to temper the final sale price to within the resale profit range. Suckers unite.

Your comment confused me, then I realised it's because you quoted what I said to someone else, but replied to what I said to you.

Rely on what? Stupidity of the buyer can be bad or good for the seller. Depends what they do or don't do. Not sure why you believe it will happen less often.

There are still many things you can make a profit on. Surprising the rubbish people buy sometimes. Sure, you'll struggle now going around carboots or charity shops and finding items because people are aware of resellers and too many people are doing it, but that doesn't mean the stuff isn't being sold online still. If selling your own stuff it's not about profit anyway.

Completed listings as a seller helps me, it's part of my research. As I said, to see what things have recently sold for or gone unsold at, especially if none are currently listed. In no way does that alone affect when I sell an item for though.

Far as I'm concerned completed listings has never had a negative effect for me as a seller.
