Well if they are not you have a cool phone that is worth the deal, hopefully if they go under they will do it soon enough to not have forked out too much.
I may not go with them as there are so many hidden little terms that i havent the time to plough through them, am waiting on email from them as we speak as i have confirmed fre migration of number by O", but may have to pay Mobile shop as one of the terms, wonder what other charges they have up their sleeve to make sure they make money on this.
NOt a today only deal, been going for weeks!!

    Born to shop

Just call up your bank (or do it online if you can) and cancel the DD once the insurance firm set it up (usually within two weeks of you taking the contract) there;'s normally no need to speka to anyone about it. They assume that as you are not paying for the insurance you don't want it.

Bit risky with Mobileshop you are tied to the terms and conditions and if you dont follow the procedure you may find no cashback, just had an email saying i have to pay the £10 for their port service, if i use the free O2 service i will not get cashback and will have to pay full price for the phone.
I cancell DD's usually at my bank, but with financial contracts that last 12 months, you may get stung.

I've moved this over to the mobile phones board. People on there might have more experience about some of the potential pitfalls with these offers. :)

Brill deal and i am ordering one. Saw it on other thread somewhere. Word of warning if you order and want to keep your number dont do through them, they have just told me O2£10 charge for keeping my number and i told her that i had just spoken to O2 and its free and always has been. She insisted that they charge £10 and i said i had kept my number two other times and no charge.
Seems they are making a few pounds lying to people like this.
They aren't lying. It says in the stuff that they get paid a different commission rate from O2 on number transfers and that's why they charge £10. Honestly, they can charge you what the heck they like for number transfers as they are giving you a £300 rebate - what more do you want? If you don't like the deal, don't take it.

Thanks Markymark, i am obviously on a forum for moneysaving and if a way round the £10 ,(as other phone networks dont have £10 fee), i will look for it, sorry if it has made you upset, kids to feed, etc etc. ;)

Sorry i read through post again about the lying bit, when i originally rang them and said O2 wouldnt charge me, not realising it was a T/C, they didnt tell me it was a prerequisite of the deal, they said O2 charges for migration of number and i knew this to be untrue on my phone service. I just got them saying O2 charge to change numbers, that is to them not to a customer.

No probs - I understand the motivation to save money, but getting a £300 rebate on a phone contract is already a stonking deal so it's a bit rich to accuse the company of lying or ripping you off over a £10 number transfer fee IMHO. If you have kids to feed and don't want to pay £10, how about NOT transferring your number?

How about i have kids to feed and a massive part of my job (self employed)comes via my mobile, i feel you might counter with text your number change with free texts, itseasier to keep my number.
I informed the operator who took my call that having just spoken to O2 and being told they would not charge me i wondered why there was a charge, she insisted mistakenly that O2 would charge me and insisted it was £10, as i said before if she had given a reason for the £10 charge i wouldnt of accused anyone of lying.
I would love to not transfer number but so time consuming, thanks for suggestion though.
