  • Getting back to the original reason for this thread ( :) ) I found Christmas stocking stuffers for my adult children on a 60% off sale. :D I bought really nice LED flashlights....not sure what these are called by all of you? I think torch? I thought they would be a good size to keep in their cars.
It's so nice that I have money saved to buy these!!!!

Those LED lights back a punch - really great!

The nights are getting darker already (sigh) and the end of DST is approaching, so I'd say that's a gift that the earlier you give it the more useful it could be in the car as the nights draw in! So may be worth thinking of giving them now before autumn - or the fall - kicks in!
  • Hello everyone. I just wanted to say how positive and helpful I am flinging this challenge. As someone who loves loves loves giving gifts, it is helping me plan and pace myself for the holiday season. Sending out happy and positive vibes to all x
It will all be ok in the end - if it's not ok, then it's not the end!

Been absent for a wee while but the pounds have still been going in the pot. Another £56 added. By my calculations there are still 115 days to go to the 30th Nov/1st Dec - can't remember which we are going for so it is still do-able although DH would rather we waited and opened the tin on 1st January along with our £2, 50p and 20ps. We'll see.

Have a few pages to catch up on but it looks like there has been a bit of drama.

Putting my ££'s into my pot has become part of my daily routine. It's up to you when you open your pot, I usually carry on for a couple of weeks until I'm ready to go shopping.

Me and my OH have got a side bet going on our tins (we have been putting in extra here and there), the closest to the amount in the tin wins £20 as a treat:cool:

    Hello everyone

Gosh - controversy hits the Saving for Xmas 2016 thread

It's a wonderful, fun group and surely only those people who want to save for Xmas join. We all have up and down days - that doesn't mean we are stressed or being forced into keeping up with this group. In fact this group aims to take the stress out of Xmas.

Anyway - back to the business of the day......DRUM ROLL PLEASE :j:j:j:j:j

    £516 / £732

This is amazing (for me) and I can't thank this group enough for giving the motivation to keep chugging away at this.

    Love you all

I've been visiting family for the last week and have missed the controversy:o

I agree that this group does take the stress out of Christmas and it has helped me to plan, budget and save for the last few Christmases whilst I am on a tight budget;)

    What a fantastic amount saved...Well Done January!:T

Brilliant! I love buying, wrapping and giving gifts and this challenge has certainly helped me.

It's amazing how much can be saved over the year even if you are on a tight budget. It means that I know Christmas is covered and I can go and enjoy shopping without worrying whether I can afford to or not:D
