Been absent for a wee while but the pounds have still been going in the pot. Another £56 added. By my calculations there are still 115 days to go to the 30th Nov/1st Dec - can't remember which we are going for so it is still do-able although DH would rather we waited and opened the tin on 1st January along with our £2, 50p and 20ps. We'll see.

Have a few pages to catch up on but it looks like there has been a bit of drama.

    Well done Scottishmummy,

Why dont you open the pot on count up day count, then divide and repot the other pile, best of both worlds and keep the hubby happy...

Different pots Westie so could easily open it and count seperately. Considering it is supposed to go on xmas pressies it really should be opened earlier but I'll probably end up doing what others do and once the last of the birthdays are over, start buying pressies here and there using other money and finish off with Amazon in Dec.

    Hello everyone

Gosh - controversy hits the Saving for Xmas 2016 thread

It's a wonderful, fun group and surely only those people who want to save for Xmas join. We all have up and down days - that doesn't mean we are stressed or being forced into keeping up with this group. In fact this group aims to take the stress out of Xmas.

Hey ho - perhaps that particular user name gives a hint at their personality :D

Anyway - back to the business of the day......DRUM ROLL PLEASE :j:j:j:j:j

    £516 / £732

This is amazing (for me) and I can't thank this group enough for giving the motivation to keep chugging away at this.

    Love you all

Ah right okay, I thought you meant the one pot, then yes keep this one to use for presents and open it with the rest of us on opening day, and yes finish off with Amazon, which as I have posted a few pages back is how I do my shopping,

My 'pot' total is actually the figure of my gift card balance on amazon, so I have that to buy presents with, I still have a lot of pending cash backs to come to me, but I may throw that into my VSP, not sure yet depends when they actually pay out, knowing my luck it will be like May 2018 lol...

    Heads up and smiles on..

Oh another attack! Join in, by all means. Graba a knife and dig in!

It's from Buffy the Vampire slayer, a bit of fun. A TV show. But yep... now add my name to the list of crimes!

It's weird how I make one post trying to help, and I'm attacked, ridiculed, poor-shamed, my family are dragged into this and then you think it's ME that's hostile.

  • Getting back to the original reason for this thread ( :) ) I found Christmas stocking stuffers for my adult children on a 60% off sale. :D I bought really nice LED flashlights....not sure what these are called by all of you? I think torch? I thought they would be a good size to keep in their cars.
It's so nice that I have money saved to buy these!!!!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Yes we call them torches, I have a little wind up one on my keys that my parents put in my stocking last year think I may have woken them on the the rare nights I have stayed at their house after a night out with friends, trying to get keys into the lock, now I can see with the torch before I get to the door... great idea...

    60% is a great bargain :-)
