Just a quickie, I know I haven't posted for months and months but I have been putting my £1 a day away, so not sure of the total but I am up to date until August 30th

With such strong views about saving for christmas and it being something you don't do, what made you comment on a thread that is obvious all about the process you so clearly don't partake in or agree with...

I understand its each to their own with opinions and views but if you don't agree with saving for christmas, why comment. **unless it is to get a reaction which I have given, so you can move on and take your views and opinions to a thread where you may get some responses and a debate if you are wanting this.

    Wow, how very rude!

If you must know I caught it by chance and saw people saying they were stressed by it... and I wanted to share some thoughts but ultimately point people at the podcast, as they can explain it far better than me. The podcast has helped me a lot.

Not everyone has the good fortune to live in "In a house, A very big house" or be affluent, so gift sharing and the pressure to do so can be stressful.

I was sharing that podcast, hopefully some people might give it a listen and it may help them. If you want to be vicious to someone making a post and god forbid share advice about a FREE podcast - go ahead. Great to see you're embracing the spirit of good will to all men!
  • Well said Westie, :T we don't need to be patronised by a 'prezzie warden', I expect their family are happy not to buy them anything and I'm equally happy they're not in my family. :D

See my post above... I don't know why you have to be so spiteful. Attacking my family too? What is wrong with you people?

There wasn't one, single, rude word in Westie's post; you have a very distorted viewpoint.

"You people" - Now that's rude; says it all, really.

    Your opinion,

I cant see anything in my post that was rude apart from me suggesting you find a thread that appeals to you more as this thread is obviously not suited, I even acknowledged that everyone has their own views and again suggested you find an alternative thread if you wish to have a debate as I'm not sure you will find it on this thread.

I understand you don't agree with this practice but the other members of this thread do, so preaching about how saving into a pot for xmas is as you say a 'cheat' you are trying to push your views onto others.

I wish you a good day and embracing good will to all men, and thanks for sharing the podcast, if it contains similar views to yourself, I cant see many people on this thread subscribing, but thanks again for sharing.

Telling me I'm trying to get a reaction, that I'm patronising, that I'm a 'pressie warden' are all very rude in my book when I was trying to help a few people who expressed being stressed.

Remember I wasn't talking to *everyone* in the thread, I clearly address it to the people that were saying the were overwhelmed by it. Clearly no one is allowed to struggle, to be stressed. To be broke, or without a job yet still think "How do I give gifts?"

Look at you, all ganging up on me like a lynch mob for daring to try and help. To dare to show some opinion that does't conform exactly to your worldview.

In this day and age with so much anger, so much hate... why pile more onto a stranger? Particularly over an event that is meant to be a moment of joy.

Very upset at this reaction. I've rarely posted here, but it's always been contributing something... I think I'll steer clear, as I'm clearly a worthless human sack of sh*t that should be standing in front of a train.
  • Been absent for a wee while but the pounds have still been going in the pot. Another £56 added. By my calculations there are still 115 days to go to the 30th Nov/1st Dec - can't remember which we are going for so it is still do-able although DH would rather we waited and opened the tin on 1st January along with our £2, 50p and 20ps. We'll see.

Have a few pages to catch up on but it looks like there has been a bit of drama.
