car problem too far from dealer who sold it

It's a pretty good example of why you shouldn't buy a car that "just needs serviced", but I get the impression the OP was in a bit of a rush and took the first car that met budget.Find a mate who can transport the car back to the garage and buy him a few beers.
He'll need more than a few beers for a 300 mile round-trip with a car trailer. That's 6 hours driving without traffic & at least £50 in diesel.
Then if the dealer doesn't fix it properly they might need to make another 6 hour trip to collect it or take it back again.
I'm not saying he shouldn't be entitled to take it back and get a refund or repair, but it's likely going to cost him more in time/cash than just getting it fixed himself locally, and move on. This is a money saving site, and sometimes the best option is to just get on with things.
The dealer has already refused to take the car back, and TS/Court will take months to come to a resolution.0

Turbo cars are generally less reliable, oil changes every 2000 miles.
Oil feel to turbo needs checking every year.
Have you checked the log book and service history. Service history is more essential for a turbo as it could lead to an engine fault. When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche
Please note that at no point during this work was the kettle ever put out of commission and no chavs were harmed during the making of this post.0

 That's significantly outdated advice.
Of the tens of turbocharged cars I've owned (petrol and diesel from 90 to >300BHP) NOT ONCE have I ever changed the oil every 2000 miles. I did change it ever 4500 on a Subaru I had a number of years back, but it was quite heavily tuned and used properly.
Reliability wise, I've owned plenty of turbocharged cars with well over 100K miles on the clock on original compressors and with no reliability concerns.
Also, I've never checked an oil feed pipe. I've replaced them when replacing turbos, but an annual check is not necessary - checking a feed pipe would only be needed if you suspected there was contamination which could block the pipe (which shouldn't happen under normal circumstances), if another symptom pointed to poor oil pressure at the turbo bearings, or if it was disturbed and could be kinked etc.
A very early, or very highly tuned turbocharged vehicle might need the sort of care you're suggesting, but bearing in mind something like 40% of cars on the road now will be turbodiesel, and probably 90% of commercial vehicles will be turbocharged, that is certainly no longer the case for a modern vehicle.0

Having owned several petrol turbo Saab's over the years going back to 99's I have never changed the oil at 2000 miles, it has only ever been changed at recommended service intervals and I never had a moments problem with a turbo on any of them.peter12345678910 wrote: »Turbo cars are generally less reliable, oil changes every 2000 miles.0
