car problem too far from dealer who sold it

Its probably not worth the hassle of getting the car back that distance and hoping that he'll do something with it. I would post bad feedback on his facebook page etc and hope to get a refund towards the repair for removing it.
I thought you could remove stuff from your own Facebook page.0 -
The seller doesn't need to do hide or change name or anything like that, he just needs to tell the OP to bring it back and he will look at it.
The OPs unlikely to bring it back, if by a very slim chance they do the seller can just blame the OP for the damage and tell them they need to collect their car because its costing £10 a day storage.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
But doesn't the OP have the right to reject the car due to a major fault occuring very soon after purchase?0

If the dealer claims it was caused by driving it before servicing (as he will say he recommended by saying "It needs a good service"), then you'd have an uphill battle claiming it was negligence on the part of the dealer.0
-
If it needed a service to stop a major fault occuring within 150 miles then the dealer shouldn't have sold it in that condition in the first place.0
-
Well yeah, but it was sold and purchased in that condition, so it'd be hard to claim the buyer was tricked.0

A friend of mine was daft enough to buy a car from a dealer about 80 miles away from where he lived. Sure enough it developed a fault and the dealer proved tricky to deal with.
Sat in my friend's home, I rang the dealer on my mobile, told them I was from Trading Standards and I was investigating a problem with one of his customers.
Result. My mate received a call from the dealer the same day and the problem was fixed."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
