the buyer has signed her contract and her solicitor received it back on Tuesday, so we look set to at least exchange tomorrow and hopefully complete.

That is great news! Fingers crossed that all goes to plan today. Fingers also firmly crossed for elderly cat. I have much loved, elderly dogs, so I know what it's like!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
We didn't exchange on Friday  I spoke to the estate agent and the buyer's solicitor is just waiting for the new letter from the mortgage company confirming the funds are available (buyer is sensibly keeping her deposit the same and reducing the amount she's borrowing rather than reducing her deposit and upping the percentage she's being lent). Estate agent is going to be on the phone first thing Monday and hopefully it will all happen next week.

Buyer has pulled out. She'd CHAPSed her deposit to the solicitor, was asked to reveal the source of the funds (as per money laundering regs) and refused to do so, so the sale can't go ahead.
The good news is that the estate agent has immediately phoned one of their regular investor clients, who was away on holiday last time it was up for sale and so missed out on seeing it. He's keen enough that he's going round at 2pm today and has funds available to exchange and complete within 7 days if he likes it. I suspect I won't like the price he offers, but that's the current market for you.
Please cross your fingers....

Hi Caz,
You sound like you're up against it! Here's hoping that the sale goes through once and for all!
I liked the image of you selling £4000+ of brownies - I assume other people were raising money too and helped to contribute to the total. Or were you really up to your neck in brownies?!?! LOL
Your ebay "business" seems to be doing well. What do you sell? Is it something I might like to get my hands on for family Christmas presents?

Thanks Strumpet.
Yes, lots of other RNLI ladies had baked, including one who'd done 124 bags of candyfloss and one who'd made 150 bags of tablet - I'm just a raw beginner with my 48 brownies! I have to do another batch for a coffee morning at the end of next week - MiL doesn't have time to bake as some of OH's nieces are coming to stay and bringing grandchildren, so I've been subbed in as a replacement
The eBay business sells beads, findings and other assorted useful jewellery-making bits and pieces, so if you're craft-minded then there may be something there for you! PM me if you want the eBay username, as I can't advertise it on the board.

So sorry to hear about your buyer Caz, I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been.
Am sending positive thoughts to today's viewer!

The good news is he made an offer.
The bad news is it was for £70,000.
I've turned it down.

Any more thoughts about renting?
£70000 is a heck of a drop. Hmmm, wonder where she got the deposit from then? Wonder why she didn't just say she'd been gifted it or borrowed it from a friend.
Hope you get another buyer soon. Got everything crossed for you!
