Total amount now owing from various transcription clients: £612.
eBay cheques needing paying in: £91.
Transfer on the way from Google Checkout: £68.
All of which will probably clear just in time for me to pay out for yesterday's wasted court hearing! (Ex didn't turn up).

That must have been SO frustrating! Will he be penalised for the no-show? Any movements re. viewings & offers? Good luck!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0

Hi Caz,
How can he just not turn up0 -

Well, if it gets back to court again, the judge won't be too happy with him, no. But, funnily enough, the day AFTER the hearing, his solicitor contacted mine to say they'd been re-instructed and were now getting all the paperwork together
We had one lady come round to see the flat last week, but haven't heard anything, so I'm taking it that she doesn't want to buy it! We've spent the weekend starting to pack stuff we're not going to need for the next few months into moving boxes and I've put a pair of bookcases on Freecycle (no takers yet though).
Woke up to a nice email this morning - remember this from 10th December?Royal Mail's website was so slow that I managed to write an entire 2,000-word short story whilst waiting for it to process my labels. It's for a competiton to write a modern ghost story, but the closing date isn't until February, so I have time to put it aside for a couple of weeks and then read it with fresh eyes closer to the time.
Well, I didn't enter the competition in the end, I decided to send it out to fee-paying markets instead - and last night That's Life Fast Fiction (an Australian magazine) emailed to say they want to buy it for their Winter special (i.e. summer for us) and they're going to pay me $AUS700 (about £350)! They're one of the best paying short fiction markets, so I'm really, really pleased they've taken it

Yesterday's viewing was cancelled, because the buyer saw a map and said they didn't want to live so close to the railway, but the couple who came this morning were really nice and live round the corner, so at least they're not going to turn it down because of the location! I think they were slightly concerned at how they'd get their piano up into the flat, but a specialist piano mover could do it easily and they seemed to like it otherwise, so fingers crossed.
And I've received another £160-worth of transcription work in the post this morning, so that's good
Now settling down to watch the Budget and pack up my eBay orders and then I'm going to be brave and take my Lebret flute and my piccolo down to Just Flutes to sell. I'll still have my Altus and my Louis Lot headjoint, which is enough for someone who plays as infrequently as I do, and I could use the money, though I doubt they'll sell quickly - the French flute market has changed from when I bought the Lebret and the piccolo is open G# system, although it's a very nice wood Rudall Carte in the original case, so a collector might want it for historical interest. I've no idea how much they'll sell for, but I paid £1,700 for the pair about 10 years ago (the Lebret's untuned), so I'd hope to get close to that back after Jonathan's commission.

Don't move, don't breathe, don't speak, but I've just accepted an offer on the flat :j:j:j:j £1k less than the last one, but in the current climate I'd rather take £1k less than not sell it. Let's hope this one sticks...
And guess which muppet walked all the way down to the flute shop and opened the flute case to find she'd left the headjoint behind...?! Fortunately the owner, who's the one who'll be valuing them, is in Germany until next week, so I can drop it in on Monday.
