WOW - so quick. :jDon't telll the keys on the "houses" board. They are always predicting impending doom....they even have a sticky on it. Good to see the housing market in London is still going strong. Good Luck.:money:
  • Rats, my buyers pulled out :( They were borrowing a large sum from their respective sets of parents so their mortgage would be affordable and one set of parents changed their minds.

Never mind, I've tidied up again and have more viewings lined up - if it sold in 36 hours before, I'm sure it will sell again :D

Scottish house is being valued for the mortgage company next week, which is the last fence we have to jump before the mortgage is completely approved. We've had the seller's offer through (it arrived with us 1pm yesterday and expired 5pm yesterday, so we've got to hope they're still prepared to stick to it!) and the only thing that might be a slight problem is that they want to complete on 30th April which is a little bit sooner than we'd like. We're going to ask if they can put it back 4 weeks, but if not we can still do it, it's just going to be that bit more expensive.

No, it's not that close. It's the day after my 30th birthday so I'm sure it's a long long way away!
Hope you get new buyers soon I'm sure it'll be ok.
You could always do as Squatnow suggests and allow people to live rent free in your flat? NOT! TTFN, Kaz.

  • I don't think the entry date is going to be a deal-breaker - they've put 30th April on the front page of the offer, but inside it says 'or other date to be mutually agreed between parties'. Phew!

Things are moving - I rang the valuations people to see when they were going out, it turns out that they've outsourced the valuation to a local firm who we happen to know surveyed it last August and valued it at £160,000. So I rang the local firm, who said that their surveyor went out yesterday and although she hadn't typed her notes yet and the survey is for the lender not for me, they were sure she'd be happy to talk it through with me over the phone and they'll ask her to give me a ring back.

I then rang the estate agent and they've got a viewing today at 3.30 and two on Saturday at midday and 4pm, so fingers are now firmly crossed!

LOL! I was actually considering firing up the breadmaker today, but I can't keep it running for 8 hours or I'll be opening a bakery in the front room :rotfl:

Yesterday's viewing was cancelled - the agent called, sounding a bit narked, and said they'd looked at a map and now decided they didn't want to see it after all. Surely you'd do that before making the appointment?? I still have three for today, touch wood, so it's time to do all my eBay stuff quickly, then pack the shop away and take a dustpan and brush to the cat's eating area (she only has three teeth, meals are generally a messy business, bless her).

I got hit with a rare bout of insomnia last night and instead of downloading hidden object game trials from Big Fish like normal, I actually did something productive and at 3am I finally opened my website up for business :j It's not completely populated with stock yet, but I've broken the back of it, as my mother would say.

Humph, my last FIVE viewings were all cancelled :( However, it went in the paper today and someone rang up this afternoon and saw it this evening, so fingers crossed.

All the other news is good though - the formal offer of a mortgage has been sent out for the new house (it's been valued at very slightly more than we're paying :T), I'm up to date with all my transcription work and owed just over £500 at the moment, I've had a couple of people go mad in my eBay shop, I've had my first order through the website for £70 and OH got a letter this morning saying that he'd passed the interview for the job he applied for in Scotland and it's now just subject to references and a medical :D

Crossing my fingers that the good trend continues as I have my First Appointment hearing at court for divorce finances tomorrow morning...
