  • The Virgin website is carp (intended).
I've been trying for 2 hours to place an order without success.
I get as far as clicking the checkout (sometimes) then it freezes.
They really need to sort this out given the level of trade that they are probably losing.
...and then the window licker said to me...

Perhaps it is the unusual level of interest in the offer that is making it slow? I have never had a problem with it freezing when I have checked it for various people on here - but I guess I have just been lucky.

I had the same "freezing" problem. I phoned the 0845 tel given & an operator phoned back & took the order AND SAID :-- "it freezes unless you enter a current Virgin tel number"

The whole of the Virgin web site has "struggled" for years. Usually it gets there is the end, but they desperately need to re-write the whole web site!

I have just tried to order two Nokia 1100's via the telephone as I was having a lot of trouble with the website and I was told that I was not allowed to take up the offer as you have to be an employee of certain cimpanies for the Lifestyle Rewards offers and they are now clamping down as a lot of people have been allowed to buy those phones who weren't supposed to.

Sorry but I think he has mis-advised you. The orders I placed were done with my home & work landline numbers with no problems at all. Why would it matter what telephone number was in there as long as you had given one? And how could they possibly expect any new custom with this rule anyway? Unless they have changed it in the last couple of days I think they have told you wrong.

Whoops! Looks like they are on to us!
 Sorry but I don't know which companies either but I would guess it would be creditcard companies or similar big finance-based businesses, I would recommend perservering with a web order to prevent having to lie to them. :silenced:
