MSE News: Nationwide launches cashback credit and debit card scheme: is it any good?

I got a £25 credit to my Nationwide Select Credit card account today after purchasing a £100 amazon email gift card a few days ago. This is very good deal = 25% off Amazon purchases (not marketplace). The Nationwide process of logging in for the cashback via a link from an email does go against the general advice of not replying to email links.0

I registered and bought £104 of items from Amazon last Friday using my Nationwide card and I have not had any correspondence or the £25 payment. Previous posters seem to have had emails and the money quicker; is anyone else experiencing a delay please?0

I think this is the last date for the £25 off at Amazon, so I've just bought a £100 gift voucher. Hopefully it will work!0

If Amazon have split your order into multiple transactions, it seems to be causing some issues with the offer tracking. I ordered two items -total was over £100, but Amazon billed them as two sep transactions and it doesn't seem to track through as a £100 spend (the original offer did state multiple purchases were fine). I'm waiting for a email response from the simply rewards site.0 -

A mixed message from Nationwide on the end date. You are quite correct in saying the website shows today as the last date items can be purchased on to receive £25 back but my partner received a newsletter email this afternoon saying purchases can be made up until 31st December for the same offer.
Good luck, I am sure you will get the £25 back! 😀0 -

Many thanks for your reply Eande. My purchases were also dealt with a two separate orders although I placed them as one. I will also mail them about it. Good luck in getting it sorted!0 -

It is a bit confusing. The conditions say it must be confirmed by amazon by email as distributed to me by the 31st. They also seem to say it has nothing to do with Amazon's systems and is down to the Visa network, so they must check when Amazon drawdown the money. A gift voucher is pretty much instant I would have thought, though it hasn't appeared on my online banking yet.0 -

Hi Nebulous, thanks for your reply. The mail my partner received was at 7.15pm last night which seems odd if it was the last date that orders could be placed to qualify as per the website information. The extract from the small print at the bottom of the mail says -
"Cashback is fully funded by Nationwide for Nationwide Visa debit & credit card holders. To redeem this offer, you will need to spend a minimum of £100.00 in one or more on-line purchases at Amazon.co.uk which are confirmed as being distributed by Amazon.co.uk, by email to you, before December 31 2015, including taxes and after any other discounts."
Both payments have gone through my bank and are on the statement. You are correct about the vouchers being processed quickly; I assume it is due to them being delivered next day.
I have contacted them to ask for an update about my Cashback and will post again when I hear from them.0 -
I have just received a mail to say the £25 has been paid back to my card. I am not sure it this is as a result of contacting them or the process having ran its natural course. The money is not in the bank yet but I am sure it will be over the next day or so.0

I've had my email well. £25 cashback to be credited to my account. Now I can keep my gift voucher until after Christmas to pick something up in the sales!0
