Please, can we have some sympathy for that poor salesnan. He's doing a thankless job and will have had more doors slammed in his face than you can imagine.
I remember when i had to do it. If we were having a particularly bad run with very few people letting us into their houses, and we hadn't been getting any sales ..... (remember we never got paid, it was only commission), so you could easily get depressed. There were nights we'd go knocking but only pretend to press the doorbell, we'd press the wall next to the bell, 'cos you were so down the very last thing you wanted was to face someone who was going to say NO again. But at least we could tell our boss we'd rang the bell and nobody answered.

    No.

You'd think he might have taken the hint.

If you can't say 'no' on the telephone, you really must "not be in" if he turns up. I can't see you being able to say 'no' when he's sitting in your living room and pressuring you into grabbing that deal which is only available for the next hour and bogus calls to his boss for a supposedly special price. These people are trained not to leave without a signature. He'll be quite prepared to sit for hours until you just give in to get rid of him. Do not open the door.

And, if that doesn't work, he'll ask you to sign a page so that he 'can prove to his boss that he came to the meeting with you, otherwise he'll get into trouble' or 'so that you don't get bothered by anyone from their firm in the future' - which will turn out to be a contract with them!

Per post #8 it seems this was a knock at the door, not a phone call.

@OP - just Google Safestyle ... they are reknowned for the hard-sell and poor after-sales.

Another good answer is that you phoned your landlord this afternoon and he isn't prepared to improve the house. Don't tell the salesman you're the owner, only a tenant.

all those posts and your only comment is the positive reviews!!!!

cancel the appt and get a few local recommended comanies round for quotes.

I had 3 round when i needed new windows not one of them pressured me in to anything, they were all in and out within an hour and were all fairly similar in price

Only give SailorSams answer at the end of the 3 hour sales spiel. They appreciate honesty more at the end. :D
