I think it was actually more a case that Harry himself insisted on going - but she didn't stop him.
I'm technically correct I believe, the queen is the head of our army, so everyone sent to war is sent by the queen.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -
Do you think Angela Merkel will now cancel her open invitation to all and sundry to come to Europe? I know she is not to blame for this, but I do hope she stops for a moment to think that maybe, just maybe she may have made this attack easier for them?0

Poland already have.
"We'll accept (refugees only) if we have security guarantees. This is a key condition, and today a question mark has been put next to it all around Europe,"
Not sure what guarantee you can give?0 -

The thing we must not forget is that the genuine Syrian refugee's are fleeing from these nutters. We must protect our share of them like we would hope others would protect us in our hour of need.
Some things go beyond the question of econonomics.
The time has come however for that to include using all means necessary. If I were the queen on this one I would bypass our dithering parliament and direct our troops to secure a safe haven sanctuary in Syria and plant a Union Jack on it.Proudly voted remain. Quite correct - the problem, however, is ascertaining which of the applicants are genuine refugees and which are "these nutters" trying to infiltrate Europe.0 -

Jihadi John was home grown, by that logic we should kick out everyone with a brown face, which obviously isn't the way forward.
We should act the way we always have. Offer friendship in times of horror and punish those that show themselves to be the enemy. Creating more walls and locking people in gettho's will haunt us all far more in the end.
Over the long game which this will require, you beat terrorists by maintaining civility, not by becoming more like them.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

I don't think so, the country suffered a civil war to decide the who sends our troops somewhere, no unelected bint is going to do that job on my behalf thank you very much.
I have a feeling Cameron's instincts on the refugee crisis will be proven to have been pretty much spot on in the hours and days ahead.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
I think any armed insurgency that can bring mass slaughter to a European city has 'credibility' as a force, which is the only way we should judge any credibility they may or may not have.
I'm with the French government when it describes the attacks as an act of war, I've a feeling their response will be surprisingly war like.
Of course it has credibility.
I too am with the French on this, the west has to respond to it. Call it what you want it was a cowardly attack on civilians.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

That is not what I said - or, at least, not what I meant.
Caution needs to be exercised to ensure that we are helping people who genuinely need help, not people with ulterior motives who are pretending to need help in order to breach what is effectively our first line of defence.0 -
I don't understand the logic of these one off attacks.
What are the chances of France stopping attacking isil vs the chances of them upping the attacks when an event like this happens
I hate conspiracy theories but the only logical reason for something like this happening is if they want France and the west to bring more fight to that part of the world. Or they are really really really stupid0
