Whilst I was on my 11 mile walk I figured I could give some thoughts on taxation, tax credits, pensions etc.

Pls remind me later as I am going to watch the football.

I am not a tax advisor.

It's my way to repay some of the glitch infos.

Here is your requested reminder ;)

They had to do the entrance exams.

They are grammar schools, some counties retain them.

Regardless of whether you like the concept of Elitism in education, when it comes to your own kids, we all naturally want to do the best for them.

I went to a brilliant grammar school in Bucks; 2 of my siblings went to the local secondary modern sink school. It's not a perfect system.

    ooh....... touchy! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

But in reality there is no criticism of you or the education system. I was serious when I say that education is very important - We chose our house purely on the schools, and 4 out of my 5 have gone to either Russell group Universities, or the University that has the best course for them. Strangely it is the one who did not go to Uni, who is a very high achiever and is achieving highly in his job.

I did however turn down a full scholarship for DS2 to a top private school as I did not feel that it was the most appropriate school for him.

:rotfl: Went into A this morning just a few items I wanted and used 3 APG and 3 CGS coupons, CGS went through fine the Apg was entered manually but then a supervisor was called as I had an APG of £2.26- apparently all APG over £2 have to be authorised:eek:
....but do you know why Asda are being cautious the Sa says to us?
    No why?

Well the other week there was this person who had a trolley of pot noodles bought just before midnight ....

Oh really and what is the significance in that I asked

Well they had a huge APG ---£100

I chuckled and said how ever does that work? SA then had to see to another customer.

I wonder who had all the pot noodles???:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I was just writing out a post about a lot of wombles, then pressed the wrong button, shut the screen down and lost it:mad:. So, I'm not really bothered at the moment to try to write it all out again - so, maybe, sometime later probably after midnight if I ever get back to thinking of doing it.

I've just stumbled across this. This can't be a rule that applies in all stores but must be store-specific to one store where you happen to have had someone shopping for Pot Noodles. I had no problem with my above £2 APG yesterday, that they scanned at the till (not SS) and went through under the new system. The two other vouchers I had didn't scan properly and had to be manually entered by the SA. Interestingly they were both from my own glitchy shops but I don't know whether that was the reason. They don't know their own systems but I had no problem and certainly no problem with an APG in excess of £2.26 that went through fine - no need for any supervisor authorisation at all for that one.

Quick heads up on the Barilla vouchers.

I didn't get a chance to print from the links in the email I received until the day after the deadline to enter competition.

I sent them an email and they have responded saying they have opened up the printing facility for 7 days.

So if you have emails you didn't get a chance to print try now and they should work.

  • Tesco currently has full legs of lamb, half legs of lamb, silverside beef roasts and topside beef roasts for £5kg.

    Paid £4 Kg beef.

Last weeks order was 9 legs lamb and 40 Carling.
Carling was £20 and for some reason was only charged £14 for 20kgs of lamb. Thanks Morrisons:T

Shame that they didn't the price wrong for the beef!
  • CS have now put £6 in the post for me, that being the precise difference on the 6 packs I bought. :)

So end result £3 for 6 packs of 4 after the dairy coupon. Which is what I was aiming for. And it feels a whole lot better than spending £9 on these (the very idea!)

Thanks Savvy. I consulted your BG post 390 before I went out. xx

You need only buy 5 as till sees 5 x £2.40 = £12 to trigger the Dairy Coupon threshold. Therefore actual cost is £10.40 less £3 coupon less £5.40 BG less £1 Danone Coupon = £1 for 20 yoghurts. Think it has been posted previously.

Locarr , not sure if you've had an answer yet about the keg? Been trying to get hold of ds3 as he has kegs. He's in London until tomorrow night and his mobile is off right now.

I know that with some kegs they have to be left sitting for a while before using. You mustn't move them and then open but I've a feeling that's more to do with sediment in the bottom. Hth

Thanks , no response as yet, so any others experience would be good, it does say no need to settle on them tho, cheers :)
