Thank you folks for your kind words today, they meant a lot :A

Ironically, today was actually quite a good day in work as it goes. I think it's probably only been one of a very few good days in the last few months :( I might go in on Monday, I might not. I'll see how I feel over the weekend. I came home tonight, stripped my bed and had a good clothes clear out. Put some music on and felt like a different person :)

In the meantime, it's the weekend :j tomorrow is Santa bike ride day :D then I'm out tomorrow night :j with friends who will no doubt be taking my mind off things without even knowing it :)

I think what Rockingham meant, was although it says tubes on the apg, the Malteasers are actually in a box and weigh 75g, whereas there are some actual tubes of other chocolates that weigh 100g, like this one.....
    http://groceries.asda.com/product/boxed-chocolates-gifts/munchies-giant-tube/910002053393

They are, but they are Munchies not Maltesers - if I remember my prep. correctly the Munchies are useless as not comparable against Sains.

There are different descriptions appearing on the comps. we got though - unless Rockingham has truncated the wording. Mine has the addition of "(75G)" (with a capital letter G).

Box/tube/carton, it's the same thing to me! (And that's saying something as I am usually pedantic about words and a different word means a different thing.) Although I can see the standard individual tubes of Smarties, for example, would correctly be called "tubes", these boxes of Maltesers are also correctly described as "tubes" (albeit of a different type) to me. I understand what is meant here by "tubes". I take them as tubes, whether it's tubes/boxes/cartons whatever it is.

I hope I've not lost a full 225g on my nine tubes (I did need to spend a big APG!) - that's more than a Maltesers Funsize pack! However, at least some compensation, of sorts, as I have a womble for a couple of quid.

    It's T, for the first time in what seems ages:laugh: - it's usually either T or M:

16 items (11 different) on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda tesco
    1x ASDA Fresh Welsh Double Cream (600ML) £1.60 N/A
    2x Horlicks Light Malted Drink (32G) £0.68 £0.64
    1x Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Champagne (75CL) £15.00 £15.00
    1x ASDA Grower's Selection Loose Oranges (EACH) £0.30 £0.30
    1x Green & Black's Organic Blood Orange Milk Chocolate Bar (100G) £1.50 N/A
    1x ASDA Butter Unsalted English (250G) £0.85 £0.85
    1x McVitie's Digestives Dark Chocolate (300G) £1.00 £1.00
    1x Green & Black's Organic Chopped Almond Milk Chocolate Bar (100G) £1.50 £1.67
1x ASDA Chosen By You Malted Milk (200G) £0.60 £0.40
1x ASDA Chosen by you All Butter Pain au Chocolat (4PK) £1.00 £1.00
    1x Sheldon's Lancashire Oven Bottom Muffins (6PK) £0.98 £0.85
    2x Green & Black's Organic Milk Chocolate (100G) £3.00 £3.33
4x Philadelphia Original Soft White Cheese Family Pack (280G) £4.00 £4.80
Comparison total (compared products only) £28.91 £29.84
    cheaper +£0.93

Another one getting fewer chocolate biscuits (500g version in M for £1.00!). However, getting, for me, the right ones for a T comp. as I don't doubt the 500g version would probably compare £2.00 (now individual price in A) against £2.29 for T! (I can tell you there, as I've just discovered the price change on the 500g McVities in A - that they were previously £1.50 so, yet again, the change to 2 for £3 represents no saving on the previous price at all. Constant £1 in M throughout this last shenanigans.)

Malted Milk should be vs 2 for 70p in M; however as they bought only one they got me the best comp. there (M 45p, Sains. obviously more expensive than that (55p), W same as S). In fact, A's individual price is the most expensive of the supermarkets.

4x Philadelphia Original Soft White Cheese Family Pack (280G) £4.00 £9.60

Perhaps good for Sains BM. Same price at W, but no good there - they won't match T as I assume that's another T offer price. However, lose 40p if buying four:eek: compared to Avs M:

4x Philadelphia Original Soft White Cheese Family Pack (280G) £4.00 £4.00

Northern Ireland - it's a Sainsbobs Brand Match!

It is straight £1 price (A and M). In fact, I now remember - I have bought one of these at Sains before (at least a year ago) when £2.40 in S and £1 in A as is the same now. It's nice, and more helpful for me, when A is more than half the cost of S on something! Can get more than half my S shopping bill back if things keep up that way through my shop:D. Usually, though, there's not such a great difference (on items worth matching to A's price) and you'd expect perhaps to get back to the half cost (50% back) thing by a few items that aren't quite half the price in A - you need ten different and for them all to compare to give worthwhile money back - but the Philadelphia would be a nice help! I'm not at S at the moment though, as no benefit to me as opposed to buying a single one item at A's straight cheaper price.

I'm glad I got the Champagne - but then I suppose it would be comparing only against T there as that was the best of the bunch of comps. on this shop.

Nestle Giant Munchies Tube (100g) - 100g not my idea of "Giant" - I'd think "Giant" was 300g or over! - is £3 in T - really?

Will hold onto them until they reduce the party food after Xmas.

QOC, good luck with the resignation. I am so glad I have resigned and would never go back to that job (it used to be the best job ever) but am now feeling that I am a bit useless even though I only finish on the 17th January (2 months notice).
I have qualifications but looking at the nhs application forms is like another language! So different from when I applied many moons ago. Even applying for a non qualified McMillan sitter post is complicating. I do need to earn something a month but it doesn't have to be the same amount if we are very careful.
If I could understand glitching then I would get more involved and perhaps help the thread and make a profit at the same time.
I still haven't told my mum, brother or sister that I have handed my notice in :o
I wish you every success in your next venture :)

Thank you :) I have already given them my notice, but I'm on the verge of going sick until my last day. I've only got two and a half weeks left but my mental or physical health won't last that long :o

NHS applications - use the person spec and job description and match your application to them. Where they're looking for X quality, give an example of how you meet it. I'm probably making it sound a lot harder than it actually is but I hope you get what I mean :)
