The stilton in the jar is a cracking price for £2.85. Pop a bit of port in the jar and let it soak in, mmmmm.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I don't really understand the whole valuing an avios thing
We just use ours for flights. We will qualify for our first Amex 2 for 1 voucher soon, which we will use for something long haul in business class but that's about as much as I know. I do read the daily HFP emails but don't really follow the explanations about valuing avios there either.

I've just bought 3 things on TCB app & can't work out how to tell them what I've bought. I've tried uploading my receipt presuming this is what's reqd. I press submit & appears to upload but then the app closes. Can't make it out.
You are doing it right, it is just not working tonight. Open app, Instore, Groceries, click on the item then take photo and upload.

Hopelessly already pricematched T and M.
Nestle Black Magic Chocolate (443g)

I think it's a case (assuming the comparisons work) of ignoring the T price now. Even if the T price was £11 or £10 or anything, it would not matter at all (as long as it picked up M's £5 price - and that was technically Wednesday when TBG I think do their second collection on Thursdays) - except if the difference from T's pricing then took you over the £20 cap limit on your shop. Also a higher T price would give you a few pence more CC points - but I think hardly worth bothering with.
According to this, but it's msm and it's always a thing about assuming items aren't available at a competitor:eek:, it would seem to be able to be used regardless of which competitor your T shop was targetting. Might be useful for Surf Washing powder shops (vs M) I don't know?:think:0 -
My daughters little Shorki ( Pickles ) gave birth to 4 pups this afternoon. They weight 100gms each. Unfortunately one died soon after being born.0

How do you work out how much value you got out of an avios redemption?
By comparing the number of avios redeemed to actual or perceived cost of revenue flights you might otherwise have taken. You also need to factor in the the taxes and fees on the redemption. Ultimately thd value you reach will be dependent on many factors, e,g. when you book, whether you base value on revenue price of airline redeemed or cheapest acceptable alternative etc. Thus, values are very inividual and not directly comparable. It is worth trying to figure one out for yourself though based on your redemption history as it guides you in setting a realistic price you should be prepared to pay per avios either directly or indirectly.
That is very subjective and difficult to calculate.
It is the only way that I can travel long haul in Club or First, so Avios are very valuable to me. Others with a high income (I had one when I was working) may value them less since they can pay for the current low price cash fares.
Another complication is that when you collect you may not know what the redemption terms will be when you redeem.

I've never sat down and worked out what they are "worth" until tonight.
It doesn't really matter if (a) you are not buying them (either directly from avios or by buying things just to get the points that come with the item) and (b) you are spending them on stuff you wouldn't otherwise do.
Like you I would be reluctant to pay £££s for long haul business flights, but being I got the avios as an aside to general life, they didn't really cost me real money.
I suppose the value in putting a price on them is if you could put them to better use or if you could buy flights as cheap as using the avios.
Long haul business (or first) with a 2-4-1 voucher is generally regarded to be the best use of them, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
If you want to see their worth divide the price you would pay for similar flights by the number of avios you are using. That gives you a broad idea of their value - even if you wouldn't actually ever spend that money on those flights.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've just been getting this 'reckless' feeling that the Pepsi 30 pack will work on the APG and that there will be no problem at all with it. Famous last words:rotfl::rotfl:.
I am getting lucky vibes though:D:D. Maybe I just want it to work.
If it were something I would use, I would be off getting it now:rotfl:. I just love a big price difference though I guess! There's a bit of a thrill element to it to "gambling" it- in my current state, if I was something my house would use, I would now be going and getting it from A:D.
