I know the relief better than you'd think :o I actually found out the meaning of the phrase weight off the shoulders that day . I sat on the sofa that night and my shoulders really did feel lighter

You have to do what's best for you :A:)

    When d'you finish?

Some time ago I might have felt the same. Again, it's all about doing what's best for you :)

I know what you mean, I feel so different already. I won't have to drink so much any more (water!) to keep up with the loss through tears.
I leave on the 18 January, I have to give 2 months notice but I have the 2 week Christmas break off so not too many working days left. It does damage my pension leaving before 60 but at least I'll be around to reach 60!
We've paid off the mortgage and don't have children at home so should manage till I find something less stressful.
I'll have to learn how to glitch more efficiently.

Thank you to all those that have commented, much appreciated.x

I'm on the fence on jobs Josie. I'm assuming you work in the public sector? If I'm wrong then I apologise. the overhauls that are taking place in the public sector are shocking to say the least and they are affecting so many people.

I'll be controversial here as an ex-civil servant :o if I'm honest, it was an easy job and an honestly route to easy money. I've saw people getting paid full time wages for doing part time jobs. it may just have been the area I've worked in but I saw dozens of people leaving and the work being easily absorbed. we've got a culture in this country that was going to get unsustainable at some point.

This was quite possibly true in your day ;) but as you said, over time those jobs have been absorbed, and its a different place now. I know someone who worked in the public service. She had enough and left, and now works in the private sector, and she cant believe how little she has to do now compared to when she worked in the public sector. Time have changed over the last 5-10 years drastically. (Disclaimer) Obviously different areas/professions will be different.

WOW, this is cheap if you need some. I am almost tempted to relace some just for sheer kicks at this price.

Flip, I think we want to go and work there.

In every public service dept. I have worked in people have done extremely long hours with no additional pay or recognition.

It is likely that this is going to spread out into other public service areas.
