Wife is finding it all a bit stressful. She is going to work tonight and then decide what to do. She feels very overwhelmed and lost and the super users are very slow at replying. One was also rude to her last night. Not on for £6 an hour.
Yeah I do understand what your saying it can get frustrating when
you have a customer on the line and you need some help, but to be fair
my super user has been great over the past few days, how long
has your wife been taking calls?, the only comfort is that the longer you
do the job the easy it will get, as you learn the tricks of the trade0 -
Think a big problem at the moment is inconsistancies within training and within the super-user group. My group hasn't had a good training period due to technical issues with the system and with issues suffered by people in the group. We haven't been shown some things at all and we have now been told that we have been shown the wrong way of transferring calls, we haven't been given notes on certain things and haven't even been told things like passwords and user names for the routers.
All in all I think the next 2 weeks are probably more important than the training period as this is where the real learning begins.0 -
Hi all,
Yes training is over and still feel a little lost!...to be expected though there is so much to take in and the software doesn't tell you everything you need to know to answer customer queries...it didn't help that we didn't train on the real thing either!
But...on a positive I think things are getting better...so sometimes I don't know what to do, have to rely on asking questions that take forever to get an answer...and sometimes the customer hangs up...not good but what do they expect really at this stage...it realy is a learning on your feet type of job. I suspect its a case of grinning and bearing it and soon we'll be experts lol! After all there aren't many jobs where you can go to workl in your PJ's, be at home for the kids, no travel involved and when on a break can go and potter around the house...all in that £6.00 per hour means a heck of a lot more...means I can be there during day for kids, do school runs...have time with my soon to be baby and not worry yet about childcare. My old job used to earn me about 9 times per hour this but when you have a three hour commute each day and working long hours, stressed all time and can never switch off from it....I'd rather take this anyday.
By the way for those thinking about doing it and need more hours, we've only just finished our training and they've already offered us 35 hours per week...which I've taken as figured better to try and if don't suit can always reduce. Oh and if quality is good on phones hourly rate can go up to £6.80!0 -
Hi have just done the computer test and passed
they said they wil be sending out a workbooth cd as the second part of the assesment nothing about an interview or anything has this happened to anyone else?0 -
Thanks for the post bobblebot nice to read your
thoughts about the job, yeah to be fair the whole
@home thing is new over here, and yeah you do
miss the old nudge your workmate for help while
on a call but first thing to remember is take it all
with a pinch of salt if a customer get's stroppy or hangs-up
all that matters is you give it your best shot and try to be
the one that actually helps the customer
I have found if you search mojo with keywords there
is quite abit of info to be found this can be useful to
revise with maybe half an hour before your shift starts
I also have found a great forum called skyuser.co.uk
If you have a read around you will find common problems
and issues from the customers point of view
Also I haven't took any more hours yet, I have been doing
a little contracting once-twice a week for my brother in laws business
so don't really need to take them at the moment but great to be offered them though, I start a OU degree in October so until then I cant really judge just how much free-time I can spend working0 -

In my case PP I got a email a day later to arrange a time for a
telephone interview0 -
Unfortunately my pc didn't pass the test, it said my cpu was too slow so I would need to upgrade. Does anyone know whether that would be possible on a 6yr old pc? My pcu is running at 800 but needs to be at least 1ghz. Also, any idea of cost? Obviously I want to weigh up whether it would be worth having done for a job that I am not 100% sure about.
Any advice greatly received.0 -
It's really hard to say without knowing your motherboard model if
it's even A: Possible B: Worth it
I cheapish way to get a faster pc would be to buy
just a new basestaion and use your old monitor etc

this doesn't have a operating system with it though
so would need ether XP or Vista
