I'm in the same position. I have chosen the Tech Support, my only prob is the hours as they have said no shifts starting later than 4:30 which kind of dampens my potential of getting another part-time job in an external workplace. But I'm still gonna go for it and if necessary I will try to change my hours after I've been there a while. Think it's better to take the job than not to lol.
Training for this role is 3 weeks long and I've been told the training is quite extensive so I wouldn't worry. They wouldn't have offered you it if they think you couldn't handle it :o I'm quite a techy person but by no means an expert and I'm gonna go for it so if it's the one u want, then do it! Will u be in training September 9th to 26th?

Yes they are the same training dates, looks like I will be getting to know you better soon lol .

I have just got to sort out the funds for this disclosure scotland thing which is £20, am having trouble getting the money, am returning to a new job following a recent road traffic accident, hence the struggle, have e-mailed TeleTech to see if they can help.

Anybody got a spare corded phone they could send me for the first week of training, only have cordless in my house, would be very much appreciated! :A

Well I have to hear back from Ashley to confirm everything first lol, but fingers crossed! I don't know if I have a corded phone either... might have to borrow one from someone. Does it have to be corded or can it be a cordless speakerphone? I'm pretty sure my cordless is capable of running for longer than 4 hours straight. I know I've had some pretty long conversations on it lol.

Corded is prefered due to battery life issues, interference from the PC etc. You may want to try the cordless speaker phone near your pc and see if it works out ok, if it doesn't pick up interference etc you may get away with it if the battery life is ok.

    I'm feeling fairly organised.

Loaded my Workbooth CD again, and it passed. Sent off my References, agreed times and hours, and made my Disclosure Scotland application.

All going well with my references etc, I start training Monday 8th Sep through to Friday 26th Sep. I'm looking forward to it.

Have to say my recruiter has been really great.

    Sales or Tech Support ?
My background is Sales but when I applied the only positions were for tech -and despite not been a techie (stop nodding Paul & Oliver :)) I got the job and I really do enjoy it as I'm learning something new. Training gave me enough knowledge to start the job and there is always someone to ask if you get stuck once you go live.
A really good friend -who is probably a lot more technically minded than me has just started in sales and loves it and is doing really well so there's a lot to be said for both jobs.
Sorry that probably didn't help much :)

    Hi folks.

After reading a fair amount about this job, and skimming some of the pages in here :D (it is a large thread lol), i have a couple questions for those in the know.

Im interested in the tech side of work, and have these questions regarding things.

    1. What is the pay per hour ? on their website it says £6 ph. is this still correct or dependant on other factors ?

    2. Minimum hours of 20, rising to anywhere between 22-26 a week? is that correct ?

    3. I can see that its a u.s business with a uk section. Are the people you end up speaking to if you apply/get the job/pass training/end up working, from the u.s or are they actually uk people, but just some u.s main business people you have to communicate with etc?

    4. Assuming pay is what it says (unless different to above), and your working the 20 or more hours a week, is your final pay amount , final ? or is this after other deductions or such ?

Im sure ill think of other questions, and apologies if ive missed an answer already answered.

    thanks again in advance!

There are no other factors, your hourly rate is fixed, even experience agents and Super Users all get the same.

    Yep

A lot of the admin work is US based, team leaders and agents are UK based

Tax and NI aside there are no other deductions to worry about.

All answers are already in the thread ;)
