Hi All,
Well i got the job so far so good just awaiting for new training times - however i have the work booth CD when i try and run it it states no IP address detected ?? i have a 5 month old lap top its a HP DV9000 can anyone advise if they have had a problem or if it could be my lappy ?7

Hi - I am not a techie just sales but make sure your laptop is connected by ethernet cable- it cannot be connected wirelessly. Also, I know some people including myself (also new lappy) had to get a belkin adapter to connect ethernet cable to. You used to be able to get them on web but as far as I know they are hard to get. Teletech actually sent me and others on my training ours out as we could not get them. hope this helps but I am sure Oliver27, Paul K and Duchy will be on to advise you further - they are more experienced than me. Definately make sure you are on ethernet for the workbooth cd as its fussy about network card chipsets and you cannot use wireless for TT anyway. What internet provider do you use and do you use a router to connect to the broadband connection?

Any idea when the next training class is due?
And if i'm given a place in the training, does that mean i'm hired or it depends on other factors?
I really appreciate someone explaining the procedure from to hiring.

Also I was searching the company (TeleTech) in internet and i came across a few dedicated sites and forums with scary info and feedback about the company. Even there are court orders apparently. Any comments on that?

I think that you will find that these sites relate to the american part of TeleTech Holdings not the UK part and also this information is over 2 years old. All companies have bad things about them, you could get a job with a local company and whats to say that in 6 months time theyre not going to go bust? Thats the chance that you take, I personally feel more secure with a multi-national company which operates over near enough the whole world and employing in excess of 45,000 staff. Also if you care to read back in the forums you will see that there have been no problems whatsoever with pay.
You will also find that no matter where you work, especially in call centres people will say bad things about their jobs and their employers and then other people do nothing but praise them, at the end of the day a job is what you make it and if you simply treat it as a means to an end then you are obviously not going to enjoy it.
Why ask so many questions about applying for a position when you have so clearly already made your decision regarding the company and the job, in my personal opinion if you feel so badly and are so doubtful of the company then i seriously think that the job probably wouldnt be for you and maybe you should look for something else. Maybe a critic??? just a suggestion

First, you didn’t answer my questions but you commented on the links I found on internet. I don’t think I asked many Questions. I’m interested to know mainly 2 things: When is the next training class, if anyone knows and if I’m offered a place in the training class does that means I’m hired or I have to pass successfully the training class or what ?

Your employer checks your background, asks for referrals, CRB so why don’t do the same on them and search for info and feedback. I found the links (one led to another) only by accident when I was searching for answers to my questions similar to above, not intentionally I went after them. In fact, I was referred to them by an employment agency. That said, I have all the right to know about my employer and what other people think about positive being or negative, old or new news, UK based or in US. Belfast is in UK, London is in UK by the way.

What makes you think I already made my mind and decided against the company and the job? If so why I come here and ask.
Critic by nature but detective is my ambition.

freeonline, I applied for the techincal job but was offered the inbound sales instead, which is fine I can do either.

I was immediately offered the job and it was made very clear, in a "you'll be a great asset for you would you like to accept the position now" kind of way. Of course there are still the security checks and references to submit, but they will be fine.
