Can you browse the internet with it connected? If so it is ready to go. If not then you may have to do the connection a certain way for the modem to accept the router as its new connection point. (Normally powering the modem and pc off, connect router WAN port to modem, LAN port to PC, power up modem, wait for lights to lock/ settle, power up router, wait for lights to lock/ settle and then power up the PC.)

Yep I can browse the internet with it. Thank you for that. But now when I try to do the Teletech PC Assessment, instead of all my PC specs appearing on that page (IP address, router etc.) it just simply says "Test". It was sent to me by e-mail over 2 months ago, maybe it has expired?
  • I have just received an email from teletech inviting me for an online interactive information session and they have given me a list of times and dates i can choose from,so far so good.I am a little nervous though about the actual interviews as i have read that you have 2 or 3 telephone interviews.I have not had a formal interview in years and am more than a little rusty at this sort of thing but i am sure i will cope.

Oh, so they do weekend training? I work a full-time job and wanted some extra cash, so was worried that I would not be allowed the time off work during the week mornings to do the training.

Also, I got my new router this morning and have installed it and everyhting, but I just dont have a clue how I'm supposed to know if it has been set up and is working correctly. Anybody any guesses please?

    Here is the make/model: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/48546

as recommended by Oliver :-) and I'm on Virgin broadband on a Dell PC. Many thanks.

Training as far as I know is never mornings. Always 3pm+.

Our training is Friday - Sunday 3pm-9-30pm. Other's have or have had similar hours but Mon-Thurs or FRI.

The interview word should be used very very lightly!!!!!

Basically interview consists of asking you 2? questions ... about your past customer experience including how you deal/t with a difficult one and the outcomes.

Don't worry about it its so imformal you wont recognise it as an "interview".
  • Thanks rebekahr,is that all there is to it?Only i was speaking to some one who told me they give you a real grilling for both interviews and although i was quite alarmed,i think i am competent enough to deal with it.Just that i have had a real rough ride with life recently and have not worked for 3 years, but i am very much looking forward to doing something useful and getting back on track.
    Many thanks for your reply.

Basically they just look to ask you about your previous work history and they are also looking to see how you handle the call. Obvioulsy if you cannot handle the call from Teletech they will worry about you handling customers.

  • Mike was lovely. It was quite a relaxing interview. lasted about 25 minutes. He asks about where in the house will you be working/ will it be quiet etc. why do you want to work at home. Asks for examples of how you have helped someone who may be angry/upset. are you a team player etc. The normal stuff. Please dont get worked up about it as you will find that it is the most relaxing interview you are likely to have ever had. then he tells you about the client/the pay etc. you will be fine. just take a few deep breaths and go for it.Don't rush your answers and if you find yourself stuck then say so. Talk clearly and in a friendly manner. He likes to assess how you handle yourself on the phone so he will take note of how fast you speak etc. Best of luck. maybe we'll be on the same training team.

Thanks for the info, its amazing no matter how much youve done in your working life when asked to give examples - you forget what youve done !
