  • I have holidays booked on the 2nd week of training and I emailed them yesterday and asked if there was a soloution, i.e start the training at a later date or do a week, go on holiday and then do another week. Still no reply ! grrr

Yesterday (monday) was a public holiday in the US. You will probably hear something today when they are all back at work.

    hi all

proof of the pudding. how do they treat their home workers. do they pay and on time.

I was also wondering about holiday pay etc.
  • Hmmm, seems I have reached the end of the line already! Have just failed the workbooth assessment as it doesn't like wireless networks. DH and I both agree that having a bunch of cable running around the house is not an option right now. Will try and re-run the assessment in the morning and see if it likes me any better then!

    Hi Madhouseof4,

My workbooth assessment would only work on wireless, plugged in it failed saying our network is too slow

I am intending to buy a new ethernet cable though in case that is the problem as I know they need you to use a wired connection when you are working.

About the not wanting wires all of the house thing, what if you buy a long ethernet cable and just plug the pc/laptop into the router when you are working? That is what I will be doing anyway.

My workbooth cd should be here today, fingers crossed i can get it working or down the drain goes my new job!

Is anyone else going to be on the workbooth conference call tomorrow at 6.30pm ?

Holidays are paid and you earn holiday time at the rate of .096 days per hour worked.

I hope this works out for you as it says in the contract that no holidays can be taken in the first 12 weeks

I was asked in my second interview whether or not I had any commitments planned in the next 12 weeks

Hopefully, they will allow you to delay your start until after your holiday.

I'm sure they will ring later today.. if you read back through the thread, this happened to someone else. The HR person was just to busy or something. I wouldnt expect much before 1pm as Oliver27 reminded me, they are calling from the states and there is the time difference.

When was the interview arranged? It was a bank holiday in the states yesterday (thanks for the reminder Oliver27) maybe the HR person forgot that when they arranged your interview?

    Good luck when they ring!

  • Bah, no cd today

Does the hire pack come in a letterbox sized package? Our postie tends to come back later with anything that looks like it wont fit through the letterbox so hopefully it will turn up later!

  • Has anyone returned their hirepack yet, with the form completed by the Solicitor?
  • Thanks for the info about the cable MBM. unfortunately I can't see getting this job off the ground right now as if they ask about commitments in the next 12 weeks, I would have to tell them I am going on hols on Saturday for a week, lol! Maybe I will get the cables I need and re-apply when your training is doing to see if they are doing another course.

Wishing you (and everyone else!) all the best with your new jobs. I will be lurking to see how you are all getting on and how you like it.
