  • If you are not satisfied when speaking to a member of staff you should ask to speak to a supervisor and expalin that he was not listening to what you are saying.

The could man you spoke to could have contacted the complaints department and/or the MP hotline to see if anything has been logged clerically with them ( as he was right (for a change!) a majority of the time it is not logged on the freetext entries ~ but that does not help you), however this again shows this gentleman's sheer incompetence a this is one of the reasons that the Ageny has such a bad reputation.

However I would give them a call again and ensure that it is logged that you have agreed to pay £16 per month.

This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

Another letter this morning said if we do not pay £1742 by 7th Oct, then debt recovery action will be taken.

Hubby doesn't want to ring anymore as the people we are dealing with are too threatening and unpleasant on the phone, and we've been told so many conflicting things. He'd rather have everything in writing now, so the facts are in black and white.

    Just another update:

Some high up lady at the DWP is involved now. She has stopped the enforcement action, and is carrying out an investigation into the mess that hubby's account is in. If we do owe money, she'll get an explanation why, and then sort out a payment schedule, so we don't get threatened again.

So we're just waiting to see what the investigation uncovers now.

  • Good news Becles.

Thanks - yes, she's our little lady. She arrived 4 weeks early and shocked all the midwives with all her hair :D

£10 a week is really the absolute max we can afford.

Yet you can afford a foreign holiday?

Yes - as I said in that thread, we're going all inclusive and paying the bulk of the cost in Tesco vouchers. My parents are paying the balance and giving us some spending money as our Christmas present.

    This still isn't resolved.

We're still going round in this circle:
    "you owe us £1700"
"please can you explain why we owe that?"
    "because our computer says so"

We did get a £25 cheque from them as a goodwill gesture though
