    Yup

So stop posting this nonsensical (not to say non-existent) distinction.
however as many Prime users have found.
Amazon often use methods that dont fit that aim.

Yes, well spotted, that's just what everyone is complaining about. :rotfl:

Much to my surprise small item was popped through the letter box early this afternoon.

I ordered Friday night on Standard Delivery (Prime customer)

So got it a day earlier than RM would have delivered it.

Now to see what happens if the bulk 1 day item is sent via AL next month.

I pretty much do Local Collect for most of the stuff now but that's not suitable due to size.
  • I have had 3 delayed this fortnight, the ones sent with royal mail. I complained to amazon and they added 30 free days to prime. I ordered something last night (sunday) and they gave me tuesday for delivery, this is ok as it was sunday evening

Thats the thing. They choose to not use a 24 hour service.

    What exactly is your point?

Isn't this the major thing about which people are complaining?

Well I'm not too impressed with prime.

3 orders made over the last 2 weeks since getting prime, so far two failed next day deliveries. What's that? 75 percent failure rate...

Just done a live chat with Amazon regarding this 2nd failed delivery, they where rarther unhelpful compared to last time agent didn't seem to understand what I was saying. Delivery status now "delayed due to external factors" (exactly the same as last time) yet has offered a full refund for the items - no attempt to redeliver or offer free month of prime etc... just straight up refund.

Oddly the order still appears live, not cancelled. I suspect the items will turn up tomorrow, despite being refunded.

Signed up to Prime (for the free month!) Sunday evening, put through a huge order of items where I presumed I'd get Prime "next day" delivery if that was an option.

Most stuff arrived Monday - brilliant.

However, I had a further parcel today (Tuesday) of three items, one of which is clearly marked as a Prime despatch item on the website. Should I complain that it didn't arrive on Monday with the others? There's no logical reason why it should have taken the additional day ...

Actually there is a logical reason. Every item sent under Prime has a cut off point for next day delivery, and this varies. For one item it could be 12pm for another 9pm. So if you order after the cut off it will not arrive the next day but be despatched the next day.

As you mention ordering in the evening I'd guess you missed the next day cut off for those items.

Generally item pages and checkout are clear if you take the time to read them.

I'd suggest going back to the item pages that didn't arrive on Monday and locate the next day cut off time.
