Evidence can be anything from a letter from someone that knows you well to a diary written by yourself. If you have adaptions at home take photos and include these in your diary. They mostly don't contact any medical proffession their self, so i wouldn't risk leaving it to them. PIP is all about how your condition affects your daily life so any evidence to do with this is good. Good luck.

You know that is a good tip. I guess that is why my Dad took videos & pictures the last time I had a mental break-down.

Most parents i would hope when faced with a child having a traumatic mental breakdown would reach for the phone to call help ..not to take pictures of someone at their most vulnerable.

Sorry to hear you had this inflicted on you.

Well I had my assessment today. The man was really nice but didn't seem medically trained, he typed a lot and commented on my joints being very creaky when he was testing them.

My mum came with me and he listened to what she had to say and seemed interested in her views as my carer. I had heard that they wouldn't let a carer talk for the claimant but that wasn't the case for me at all though I am on the autistic spectrum and have iatrophobia.

I'm really hoping that my award comes through, the assessment was 50 minutes long and quite informal, more of a chat about the answers on my form and how I coped day to day.

Scoring myself I sit at enhanced for both but I know there's a bias there so I'm just hoping i keep my care component so that I can keep my life as it is and not have to cut back on private care.

Same good luck am sure you will be fine. I had two one atos and one capita and both seemed to reflect what i said and what happened.
Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j
  • Pip is very difficult to get completely different from Dla!
Best to do research and lots of before putting pen to paper
Pain has no factor in Pip
    Good luck xx

Got turned for DLA countless times but had a PIP assessment at home just over a year ago and scored for both Care and mobility despite everyone telling me I didn;t have a cat's chance in Hell.

Pain, timeliness, ability to repeat a task and depression all featured highly in my award because I have a highly variable illness.

One thing I will point out is that the 90 minute assessment was tiring :(

So 3.5 weeks after my assessment received a letter apologising for the delay in processing my claim and saying that they now have all of the information required to make a decision. Does that mean they've only just received the report from salus?

I am waiting for my "invite" to transfer from DLA to PIP
The problem being that I can neither hold a conversation on the phone (lack of audible speech) or put a pen to paper (I lost that ability 25 years ago) - so am waiting for the time to contact "DCS DCPU Alternative Format Team" - who claim to be able to assist me - in starting off the claim procedure - Whereas "Caxton House" claim that none such facilities exist....they insist that I must find someone to help me fill in the paperwork and post it off to them.
So not only do I have to contend with muliple communication issues of my own - but also infighting between different DWP departments !!

Well I got the decision today and got 2 points for daily living and 0 for mobility.

I got the points for using hearing aids which frankly are the least of my problems. The decision maker didn't reference the fact that I black out at all even though it happens 3 or 4 times a week and apparently the DM is satisfied that I am able to walk 200m which is a miracle considering I'm paraplegic. Waiting for a call back from another decision maker and apparently it should come at some point today.
