I carried out a few scans and can pick up 6 wifi users including myself. 5 of these, including myself, are on channel 6 and the other 1 is on channel 13
I take it I should change my channel on the router as well, pick any other number?
Yes move to a channel others aren't using. There is only three separate channels 1,6 and 11 the others overlap each other so with everybody on six and 13 overlaps 11 you should move to channel 1.
With Kodi keep it simple. particularly on a fire stick. Only use a select few add ons that work and keep the skin simple such as using 'confluence'. That way you are less likely to get issues with buffering and freezing. See this link for keeping the fire stick running smoothly. http://kodicommunity.com/keep-it-simple-real-simple/
Don't bother with fancy 'builds'. They look good but in my experience are more trouble than they are worth with too much clutter and many of the add ons not working.
It does not take long to create your own simple build even on a fire stick.
I have Kodi on PC, Raspberry Pi 2, Fire Stick, and on my Moto G android phone. Its a great system.
For official Kodi advice see http://kodi.wiki/
However some of the most useful add ons are unofficial but can not be discussed here. See post 44 above.
See http://www.htpcbeginner.com/install-kodi-on-amazon-fire-tv/ for how to easily put Kodi on a firestick yourself without having to buy rubbish pre installed ones off ebay.
